The objective was to educate the Latino community in the New York City area on
the prevalence of sickle cell disease and persuade viewers to meet the critical
need for blood donations from those of Latino lineage. It needed to be in
Spanish with English subtitles to extend viewer reach.

Objectives were met by choosing Spanish speaking individuals with personal
sickle cell experiences (i.e., first responders who have a daughter with sickle
cell), sequencing their stories for the greatest impact, and leveraging graphics
and sound to communicate that this issue requires a call to action from every
Latino community member.
