The proof-of-concepts for the Momentous Institute Apps (three total) were announced November 12, 2014. The apps are available to the public on iPads with iOS 7 and Samsung Tab 4’s and Note 8’s in mid-April 2015. Two of the apps (Settle Your Glitter and Breathing Bubbles) will be available for iPhones with iOS 7 in late April/early May 2015.

AT&T’s Momentous Institute Apps help students learn to identify their emotions and provides methods to reduce anxiety and stress. Teachers can track usage trends and how the app experiences impact a student’s mood, enabling them to better communicate with each student.

Three proof-of-concept apps were created for tablets that kids can use to self-regulate: 1) Settle Your Glitter, 2) Breathing Bubbles and 3) Pass the Drop. Settle Your Glitter helps students regain control of their emotions when the most primitive part of the brain, the amygdala, has taken over. Breathing Bubbles lets students integrate their good feelings and “send away” their worries. Pass the Drop is an app that harnesses classroom concentration and strengthens a student’s ability to work in a group.
