The Start Here, Go Places. website (www.startheregoplaces.com) was first published in 2001. The Start Here, Go Places. Educators' Portal was integrated into the website in October 2009.

Briefly describe this site's objectives and how it met those objectives (up to 100 words).

Our objective was to develop a Portal exclusive for high school business and accounting educators to both engage and offer resources that keep students thriving in the classroom.

Typically communities consist of forums, wikis, blogs and media galleries. However, it takes more than just the presence of these tools to make a community thrive. It's critical each application is highly functional and fosters participation.

The Portal is thriving, not based on the tools we have, but in the way they’re designed for educators to fulfill their interest to teach and share through our highly collaborative online community experience.
