Nomination Sub Category: Smartphone or Tablet App of the Year

Nomination Title: Infant and Toddler Forum 'Tot It Up' toddler food calculator app

When was this app first released? As a member of the ITF, Judy More led the development of the Forum’s first mobile app in 2013, following the launch of a mobile optimized version of the ITF website earlier in the year.

In the six months after the mobile website was launched, mobile traffic (smartphone and tablets) increased by 48% - 19,163 visits were made by mobile compared with 12,909 in the previous six months. The ‘Tot It Up’ toddler food calculator began as an online tool on the ITF website. Following the success of the mobile website the ITF decided that Tot It Up would be more accessible for their audience as an app. Research shows that women are relying more on mobile access than ever before. Half (49%) of people use the internet on their smartphones and tablets while watching TV every week and women are significantly more likely to media multi-task weekly (56% compared to 51% of men), as are those with children at home (66%).
