Nomination Title: Anna Chagnon, Bitstream President and CEO of Bitstream Inc.: BOLT™ Mobile Browser Electrifies the Market

Describe for the judges the activities and accomplishments of the nominated executive during the eligibility period (up to 500 words):

Over the last year, Bitstream president and CEO Anna Chagnon has successfully
evolved the publicly traded technology company to capitalize on the enormous
mobile and wireless market opportunity, an area experiencing rapid growth
despite the flailing economy. Leveraging the company’s Thunderhawk browsing
technology, Chagnon drove the market development and introduction of a new
product called BOLT, a consumer-facing mobile browser that has placed Bitstream
front and center, leading the progress, innovation and adoption of the mobile
Internet.

Aiming to transform the mobile Internet from a novelty to a primary source of
information and communication for people everywhere, Chagnon and her team boldly
set to work on BOLT, invigorating a new line of business for Bitstream, a
company know for font technology and software development. Chagnon led Bitstream
to develop a mobile browser that displays “the real Internet” so users can view
any website the way they would on desktop computers. To realize Chagnon’s vision
for a mobile browser that would have massive consumer appeal, Bitstream needed
BOLT to work on as many phones as possible.

Under Chagnon’s direction, the new BOLT mobile browser was launched in early
2009 as the only mobile browser that displayed web pages in their full and
original format, and could work on as many as 3 billion phones already in the
market. BOLT is fast and includes advanced features such as patented
split-screen viewing, copy and paste, as well as being the only mobile browser
to stream video on any type of mobile phone. With Chagnon personally driving the
product and launch strategy, BOLT’s debut was an overwhelming success; in
eighteen weeks BOLT was installed on consumers’ mobile phones more than 1
million times.

Chagnon led Bitstream to an impressive #25 ranking in Fortune Magazine’s 2008
list of fastest-growing small public companies and earned the company a spot on
The Boston Globe’s “Globe 100” list of fastest growing companies in both 2008
and 2009. A reflection of Chagnon’s leadership and success over the past year,
Bitstream has also been cited as a one of the “Top Women-Led Businesses” by both
the Commonwealth Institute and Babson College.

The technology industry has recognized Chagnon’s expertise and professional
insights, inviting her to present and share best practices at numerous mobile
and wireless industry events, including iDate, iWireless World, Mobile
Enterprise, CTIA, NetWorld + Interop and the Wireless Security Conferences.

A case study in successfully developing and marketing a technology company
amidst the current economic downturn, Chagnon was invited to present at The Wall
Street Analyst Forum’s Annual Analyst Conference in November 2008 and most
recently at NYSSA's 2009 Microcap Technology Innovators Conference, sharing
Bitstream’s compelling investment opportunity story.

Chagnon has successfully transformed Bitstream, and insured the company’s
relevancy for year’s to come. A leader with vision and the ability to execute,
Chagnon should be honored for leading Bitstream towards the future with a plan
for growth, expansion and market dominance.
