The ability to quickly get in and out of taxis and pay fares is critical for passengers—especially in major cities that thrive on speed. With the Way2ride mobile payment app from VeriFone, passengers simply get into a cab, tap to pay, and get out. Passengers can easily download Way2ride to their smartphone and select their preferred card and preset tip amount. Receipts are saved in the app for easy access when submitting expense reports.

Way2ride runs on a cloud-based platform that is open to other app providers through open API to allow mobile payments and enhanced vehicle tracking for electronically hailing of trips. Way2ride uses VeriFone’s patented sound-based technology to check passengers into cabs, allowing for secure cloud-based transmission of payment information.
