Forest City Ratner, developers of Brooklyn’s Barclays Center, tapped WillowTree Apps to create a mobile app that could successfully brand the unparalleled fan experience at the Barclays Center. Users can access the arena's full event schedule, purchase tickets to games and add upcoming events to their calendars. In-app scoreboard functionality lets sports fans post messages to the board for everyone to see, while interactive 3-D maps help fans find food, drink & seating. The app was delivered to fans at the arena’s first major event in 2012, featuring Jay-Z & Beyonce. App downloads exceeded predictions within the first 90 days of launch; over 100,000 unique users have accessed the Barclays Center app to date.
