   1. Tell the story about what this nominee achieved in the past year (up to 500 words). Focus on specific accomplishments, and relate these accomplishments to past performance or industry norms. Be sure to mention obstacles overcome, innovations or discoveries made, and outcomes:

Julie Martin joined 1-800-GeeksOnTime almost 2 years ago.  Signing on as a part-time, employee she quickly ascended the ranks to full-time.  There is no chore that Julie is afraid to tackle.  She works closely with the executive team, sales, accounting and customer service departments, providing professionalism, humor and unfailing communication between all departments within the company.

In addition to her corporate duties, Julie provides 24/7/365 support to Founder/CEO Venus McNabb when needed.  She delivers Venus’ memos to the sales team, makes phone calls on her behalf, assists in the development of business proposals and provides valuable business ideas to the customer service team.  When the executive team is traveling or away for any reason, Julie reworks her schedule to make sure that customers are attended to 24/7 and redirects staffing to ensure there is no gap in service for any area.

Starting out as a customer service rep, Martin quickly adapted to tasks from all departments where she was needed.  She has become the company’s frontline to procuring new talent and is also the goodwill ambassador to clients who interface with the executive staff.  She is quick, thorough and creative in her solutions.  From working on sophisticated proposals to pinch-hitting and handling tasks such as running to the hospital to pick up a prescription for a mother who had a sick child, Julie covers on any front where her help is needed.  She has even been known to dog-sit the owner’s dogs during a last-minute business trip.

One project that Martin worked on in 2005 that was particularly outstanding was reorganizing the company’s accounts receivables, and ensuring the database consisting of thousands of customers was organized, and accurate.  Not to mention her continuous support in bookkeeping while performing her customer service duties, and driving the CEO’s children to school on occasion!Julie is well liked by the entire 1-800-GeeksOnTime staff.  She is the first to volunteer for organizing company events and there is no shortage of creativity involved.  Julie is always encouraging team meetings, and corporate outings, any kind of social events for the company so we can all get together and have fun.  Julie is known to be an employee who is on time, reliable, trustworthy, and assists the company in recruiting an award-winning team in customer service.  She handles this diverse set of responsibilities with ease, agility and enthusiasm on a daily basis.

During times that were trying or challenging with regard to having some very late nights, we could count on Julie to be the last to leave, the first in the next day and absolutely silent when it comes to voicing complaints to other staff.  “For all that she brings to GeeksOnTime,” says CEO/Founder Venus McNabb, “Julie is the one person who helps us all get through the day smoothly, and is always willing to help.”
