major search engines and continues to drive visits to the site. Snow.com is an
example of how research, search, creative and technology can all come together
to connect users with a brand. By understanding how vacationers seek
information, iCrossing was able to deliver an online experience that exactly
matches their individual needs.

iCrossing launched http://www.snow.com for Vail as the entry point for all 5
of the Vail Resorts’ resorts. Snow.com was built from the ground up for search
and usability based on extensive research into the online behavior and needs of
Vail Resorts customers; this research drove the design and copy to reflect the
uniqueness of each resort brand through tone and style. It provides users with
an interactive rich media experience that highlights the year-round offerings
of the properties, including live Web cams, videos, weather reports and more.
Snow.com makes extensive use of Flash without sacrificing search engine
visibility. Built in a .NET framework, the site includes an improved content
management system that expedites updates for the resorts. This framework is
just the beginning of a large technology overhaul to streamline the planning
and booking functionality across all five resort properties. As a result of
Snow.com’s success, iCrossing also continues to drive the visibility of
snow.com, including building a microsite, landing pages, and creating paid
search and display media campaigns.
