Under the leadership of G. Mark O’Bryant, Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare, Inc.
has been continually recognized for clinical excellence, strong operational
performance and high patient and employee satisfaction.  Focusing on employee
satisfaction, work/life balance, organizational culture, operating
efficiencies, revenue stream, supply chain management and payer relationships,
the organization has achieved a reversal of several consecutive years of
debilitating losses (-6.8% operating margin in FY03 to 7.98 operating
margin in FY10) and realized significant improvement in days of cash (28 days
of cash in FY03 to our current 110 days of cash). With these improvements came
upgrades in our bond ratings.

He has strengthened the organization's culture via the creation and
implementation of  a vision and Values statements, enhanced communication
tools, leadership visibility & accessibility, performance transparency and
engagement programs. Results are evidenced by improved colleague satisfaction
scores, being named 100 Best Places to Work in healthcare Award 2008, 2009

Healthy Workplace Award and the 2010 Stevie Award for Best HR Team.  TMH is a

Mr. O’Bryant has fortified TMH’s position in regional referral markets through
cooperative coverage strategies with aligned physician groups, and the
enhancement of connectivity with rural health facilities through federal grant
funding and he was instrumental in garnering management agreements with Florida
rural hospitals.

He has strengthened the relationship with local clinical training programs and
enhanced local training opportunities for medical professionals via the
enhancement redesign of the on site Family practice residency program, and the
addition of a new clinical training program - a residency for Internal Medicine
physicians, whileand developinged a state of the art on site campus which will
house training programs in multiple clinical disciplines in collaboration with
multiple academic institutions..

The state of the hospital at the time of his arrival in 2003 was abysmal - The
community, staff and physicians had lost faith in the organization, finances
were at all time lows and in general, the future was bleak.  At the time of his
interviews with the Board and others within the organization, this young man
saw promise through all of the negatives and stated, "TMH is a diamond in the
rough." Upon his arrival at TMH, he immediately began to "polish" the diamond.

Because of Mark O’Bryant’s leadership,we now stand as a proud example of one of
the premier healthcare systems in the Nation, being so recognized by President
Barak Obama at his AMA address, wherein he specifically mentioned Tallahassee
Memorial HealthCare's success stating "... these(hospitals) are islands of
excellence that we need to make the standard in our health care system.”
