Tell the story about what this nominee achieved since January 1 2012 (up to 525 words). Focus on specific accomplishments, and relate these accomplishments to past performance or industry norms. Be sure to mention obstacles overcome, innovations or discoveries made, and outcomes:

Under Reggie Aggarwal’s leadership, Cvent has transformed from a two-person local start-up facing bankruptcy to the world’s largest event management software company.Cvent now has more than 1,100 employees worldwide and helps more than 10,000 clients in over 90 countries manage hundreds of thousands of events, surveys and e-mail campaigns.

Reggie has long been proven an effective and well-respected leader within the industry, having guided the company back from the brink of failure to the level of success it’s experiencing today.

2012 has been a banner year for Cvent under Reggie’s leadership. The company hired more than 250 net new employees, growing to more than 1,100 employees worldwide and achieved exponential growth. Reggie led Cvent’s acquisitions of two mobile companies, Seedlabs and CrowdCompass. Seedlabs was later rebranded as CrowdTorch. The acquisition of these companies enabled Cvent to offer cutting-edge, event-specific mobile applications that have the power to accelerate the popularity of both meetings and large-scale consumer events.

These acquisitions were an important step in ensuring that Cvent continues to lead the event industry in the adoption of mobile technology. With the addition of mobile application offerings, Reggie has helped the company progress from being a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) company to a Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) company that is now able to offer meeting planners an end-to-end solution for event planning.

In addition to leading the paradigm shift from SaaS to PaaS, Reggie spearheaded Cvent’s integration with Concur, the world’s premier global travel booking tool, to enable companies to capture and manage more travel spend while driving compliance to corporate travel policies, and reducing travel expenses. In addition, Reggie also led Cvent into a partnership agreement with American Express Meetings and Events to launch an integrated solution for meetings sourcing and management. This integrated solution provides a strong and flexible foundation of service and technology to address the diverse needs of client organizations and is a game changer for the industry.

Reggie firmly believes that the DNA of a company is its employees. Developing a strong corporate culture and establishing a vibrant workplace are among Reggie’s top priorities as CEO.   He personally interviews many of the candidates that Cvent hires, in both its US and India offices, because he believes it is essential to preserve and invest in human capital.  Every year, Reggie spends two months in India recruiting and training new employees.  A direct reflection of Reggie’s commitment to employees, Cvent has been named one of Washington, D.C.’s 50 Best Places to Work for four out of the past five years by the Washington Business Journal, and was also recently recognized by Washingtonian Magazine as one of the region’s Great Places to Work.

As a testament to Reggie’s commitment, Cvent was named to the Deloitte’s fastest growing companies two years in row in 2011 and 2012. Cvent was also named in the AlwaysOn OnDemand 100 list for two consecutive years in 2011 & 2012. Reggie has been named Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year in the Greater Washington area.. Washingtonian also named Reggie a Top 100 Tech Titan, which recognizes leaders with a proven track record of driving growth of the region's tech community.
