Nomination Title: David Chao: Top Performing Sales Rep

  1. Tell the story about what this nominee achieved since January 1 2007 (up to 500 words). Focus on specific accomplishments, and relate these accomplishments to past performance or industry norms. Be sure to mention obstacles overcome, innovations or discoveries made, and outcomes:

In 2007, (and 2006) David Chao was the #1 Sales Rep in Corporate Sales
Worldwide (over 150 sales reps) and was the #1 Sales Rep in the Sacramento
office (over 40 sales reps). David was recognized by his peers as a two-time
MVP Award Winner and Sales Rep of the Quarter in Q3 and Q4 for 2007. David has
set numerous corporate sales records for most new accounts closed and most
consecutive $300K quarters. (The $300K Club is highly coveted and very
difficult to accomplish at WebEx and to have nothing but $300K quarters for
the past 2 years is unheard of.)

David Chao continues to reinvent himself and his sales processes. David
started "The Web Conferencing Blog" to help position himself as an industry
expert. David's sales methodologies were implemented by his VP of Sales across
Corporate Sales. His 100X Program and Blueprint Program focus on sales
strategies and techniques designed to increase win ratios and gain access to C-
    level executives.

David Chao is a leader, a contributor and a mentor to the WebEx sales
    organization.

  2. List hyperlinks to any online news stories, press releases, or other documents that support the claims made in the section above. IMPORTANT: Begin each link with http://, and enclose each link in square brackets; for example, [http://www.youraddress.com]:

  3. Provide a brief (up to 100 words) biography about the nominee:

David Chao joined WebEx in 2004. He was hired because he had an excellent
sales track record in the enterprise software space and had the right answer
for every question he was asked. David's first year at WebEx was challenging.
David was not the #1 sales rep for the first time in his sales career, in
fact, David struggled the first few quarters. Rather than leave WebEx because
there wasn't a good fit, David reinvented himself, created new sales processes
and techniques that were new to the Webex sales organization. Doing everything
different than everyone else is when it all clicked for David. He took some
big risks by goign against the grain but the pay-offs were great.

In his spare time, David enjoys reading technology magazines, spending time in
the outdoors with his family, surfing the web and social networking sites, and
coming up with his next personal business venture.
