Research found that nearly 75% of organizations utilize hybrid cloud architecture and Gartner says that 50% of critical enterprise applications will reside outside of centralized public cloud locations through 2027. Despite the growing popularity of hybrid environments, research from GigaOm®found that most organizations today struggle with visibility and management in complex, distributed IT environments. Most monitoring and observability solutions in the market today focus either on on-premises or cloud deployments, forcing IT organizations to prioritize one over the other. This results in an observability gap for the majority of organizations that have a hybrid environment.

With over 25 years of leadership in network and infrastructure monitoring, SolarWinds delivers intuitive, time-saving solutions designed for hybrid-IT environments and speed to value while remaining committed to helping people and businesses become more productive. Over the last year, SolarWinds expanded the capabilities of SolarWinds Observability, helping close the observability gap voiced by IT practitioners and leaders around the world. These new capabilities include broader on-premises infrastructure monitoring, expanded cloud infrastructure observability, and enhanced AI and machine learning (ML) capabilities.

New and expanded capabilities for SolarWinds Observability Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) and Self-Hosted include:

    • Broader on-premises infrastructure monitoring for critical service components like bandwidth, availability, and response time. With this new capability, SolarWinds also identifies when server resources reach warning and critical thresholds through relevant metrics.

    • Significant expansions to cloud infrastructure observability for AWS, Azure, and Kubernetes, enabling out-of-the-box cloud services and containerized infrastructure monitoring.

    • More comprehensive network performance, traffic flow and path analysis. Now SolarWinds customers can scan, discover, and map devices and applications to gain performance metrics such as latency, jitter, and throughput. These capabilities help detect and resolve issues quickly.

    • Expanded coverage for more devices and significantly increased scale. SolarWinds Observability supports more SD-WAN solutions, including Fortinet, Meraki, Viptela, VeloCloud, Prisma, and Aruba Silver Peak, as well as next-generation wireless infrastructure. Expanded device support for the Vulnerability and Risk Dashboard. Increased poller capacity can reduce the infrastructure costs of your pollers by up to a third—meaning a lower total cost of ownership without sacrificing anything.

    • Built-in intelligence and AI/ML capabilities enhance smart, anomaly-based alerts and AlertStack™ reduces alert fatigue to accelerate incident management. Customers who opt into SolarWinds IT Service Management (ITSM) can leverage AI-assisted ITSM capabilities, enabling more proactive troubleshooting, problem identification, and remediation, meaning even faster mean time to detect (MTTD) and resolve (MTTR). Based on internal analysis, 60% of SolarWinds ITSM customers who enabled our GenAI features achieved a 30% year-over-year improvement in MTTR.

    • Enhanced SolarWinds Platform Connect eliminates the need for a disruptive rip-and-replace migration. Customers can start with SolarWinds Observability Self-Hosted and then using Platform Connect, try and adopt the SaaS solution with just a few simple clicks. This provides SolarWinds customers with greater flexibility and control.

SolarWinds meets customers where they are in their hybrid IT journey, giving customers the choice of what to monitor and observe and how (self-hosted or SaaS) to do it in a way that best fits their needs.

In the spirit of continuous collaboration, SolarWinds engages with customers, its THWACK® online user community, and the broader IT industry. This helps SolarWinds understand the challenges users are facing managing their hybrid IT environments and directly informs the product enhancements and roadmap, ensuring SolarWinds products evolves with its customers. Customers like L&F Distributors, a wholesaler for Anheuser-Busch brands, have reduced issue resolution time by 60-80% following the implementation of SolarWinds Observability. Additionally, Silverback Systems has eliminated 75% of IT issues with SolarWinds by gaining visibility into their infrastructure, consolidating their tools, and successfully monitoring and managing their network and server configurations.
