    Brief Description:

Saudi Aramco’s Drilling & Workover (D&WO) encountered significant challenges due to manual data collection and outdated reporting, impacting HSE management. D&WO’s complex operations involve numbers of operational departments and drilling major contractors, over hundreds service companies, more than hundreds of rigs operating in different locations (onshore and offshore) with different contractor types, and millions of man-hours. With thousands of incidents and over a million safety observations reported in 2023, managing performance across these complex operations was a major challenge. Customizing reports and tracking performance in such a complex environment required a robust solution.

To address these challenges, the D&WO HSE Data Intelligent Hub was developed entirely in-house. This advanced platform is engineered to process vast amounts of data, deliver real-time insights, and enhance decision-making at all levels. Leveraging cutting-edge technologies such as Power BI, Big Data analytics, data mining, and visualization, the Hub elevates safety and operational excellence, enabling D&WO to uphold its high standards in HSE performance. The Hub has also been recognized globally by the 2024 US National Safety Council’s Green Cross for Safety Award for innovation and earning the Outstanding Performance Award in the 2023 D&WO Recognition Program. This Hub has achieved additional recognition, being accepted at two global conferences, it will be highlighted at both the IADC Drilling Caspian 2025 Conference & Exhibition and the 2025 IADC Health, Safety, Environment & Training Conference & Exhibition in Huston USA. Additionally, it has received distinguished recognition as one of the top three finalists in the Safety Application category for the Aramco Upstream Digital Excellence Award.
