QVision developed, designed and managed the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™ Infotainment Program, a comprehensive initiative covering match coverage, entertainment, and stadium information. This program included live entertainment, national MCs, DJs, live bands, and more, enhancing the overall fan experience. QVision handled technical aspects and provided equipment for match coverage, graphics, and statistics, ensuring a seamless event from gate opening to post-match activities in all eight stadiums.
QVision's role in delivering the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™ Infotainment Program was a multifaceted and ambitious endeavor that demanded meticulous planning and precise execution. To ensure the success of this monumental project, we engaged in extensive internal brainstorming sessions involving our creative, design, technical, and production engineering teams.
Incorporating cutting-edge technology was a key aspect of our approach. We engaged in detailed consultations with FIFA competition managers and the host broadcaster to define and address all Infotainment technology requirements. This encompassed a wide range of elements, from large screens and PA systems to lighting, vision mixers, replay machines, communication systems, and cameras. The objective was to create a seamless and immersive fan experience that extended beyond the core match coverage. Our ability to supply and operate the necessary Infotainment equipment allowed us to handle multicam match coverage, replays, VAR analysis, advertising, broadcast graphics, and statistics dissemination to large screens across all venues.
One of the defining features of the Infotainment Program was its live presentation. We introduced live national presenters from the 32 countries participating in the tournament, providing a unique and inclusive touch to the event, in addition to daily stadium live entertainment. The pre-match ceremonies were also a highlight, featuring captivating elements such as music, lighting, flames, and pyrotechnic effects, all perfectly synchronized to create a visually stunning spectacle.
To enhance the viewer experience, we introduced innovative technologies, including automated 3D animation to illustrate player positions and automated offside alerts. The synchronization of legacy stadium lights with the event's music further added to the immersive atmosphere. The selection of a special Infotainment music lineup during pre-match ceremonies, in lieu of the official FIFA Anthem, added a distinctive touch to the event.
The impact of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™ Infotainment Program was truly global. With nearly 2.9 million tickets sold, it drew an unprecedented number of spectators, becoming the most-watched Infotainment event in the history of the tournament. beIN MEDIA GROUP, the Official Broadcast Partner, recorded more than 5.4 billion cumulative views throughout the month-long tournament, and 1.1 billion views on its official social media channels. The final match viewership only reached 242.8 Million. This is a record breaking victory over the previous FIFA World Cups.
Additionally, the program marked several historic firsts for a FIFA World Cup, including the involvement of a Middle Eastern/Qatari company in its development, production, and management. It introduced a multi-song official soundtrack, automated 3D animation, offside alerts, and synchronized stadium lights, setting new standards for future events.
The global resonance of our efforts was evidenced by extensive coverage in media news, social media platforms, and broadcasts worldwide, cementing the Infotainment Program's place in history as a groundbreaking and unifying event on a global scale. Furthermore, The FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™ Infotainment Program, delivered in November/December 2022, has received prestigious recognition for its excellence in the event industry. It clinched a coveted Golden Award for the Best Outdoor Event at Eventex 2023, underscoring its exceptional quality and impact. Furthermore, the program earned two additional accolades at the Middle East Events Awards, winning both the Best Entertainment Production Award and the Best Sporting Event Award.
