Since 1 July 2021, we have introduced several technology-driven innovations to improve the employee experience at Now Health International.
As a regional and global business, we are dedicated to supporting all our employees while recognizing they all have needs specific to their circumstances. In the past year, we have continued to enhance our employee wellbeing programme and our internal development framework and career pathways.
The most significant enhancements to our wellbeing programme have been seen in the continued diversification of tools and resources available online. However, we also recognise that human contact can play a significant role in mental well-being, so have continued to introduce more in-person services and social events to help our team get what they need.
These initiatives give all our employees access to whatever elements of wellbeing support they feel they need in an accessible and unobtrusive manner. All our initiatives are provided in a “self-service” manner, giving our team members confidence they can access them securely and confidentially.
The services we provide include access to a range of counselling professionals in various sectors, allowing our colleagues to access confidential video consultations with professional financial advisers, psychologists, and legal experts depending on their needs. This support also extends to our colleagues’ family members, so partners and even children can get help for any issues they’re experiencing in their lives.
On top of this long-term support, we also developed and delivered another 24 new online sessions specifically dedicated to health and wellness, plus additional webinars.
In addition to these programs, we also introduced various new ideas using our internal tech platforms to further drive internal engagement.
First, we introduced a Continuous Rewards Program, empowering our team members to recognise their colleagues’ work and enhancing our workplace culture and collaboration. All team members are granted a number of points at the beginning of the year, which they can use to distribute and recognise exceptional performance from a colleague – or simply to brighten someone’s day!
Another vital innovation we’ve introduced in the past 12 months is our Study Assistance Program, which promotes our commitment to providing an environment of training, learning and continuous personal development for all employees in line with our values of integrity, fairness and best practice. The company recognises through qualifications and training courses the standing and reputation of both the company and the individual is increased. Study Assistance is a concessionary benefit provided to assist and encourage employees to develop their skills and versatility to meet the needs of the organisation, and they can find development opportunities via our own platform or of their own accord.
Our specific internal learning platform is known as NowAcademy and is hosted wholly online. NowAcademy contains a wealth of information, including some mandatory regulatory courses, topics specific to the insurance industry, quizzes to test how well our teams know our products, computer skills and soft skills training.
The impact of introducing these innovations has been profound; the percentage of our workforce identified as being high-performing has doubled from 10% to 20% since July 2021, while our internal employee satisfaction score has jumped from 78% to 88%, with both metrics continuing to trend upwards.
And while these initiatives have all been delivered online, we’ve also seen an increase in the number of participants in offline events such as evening and weekend meetups and events.
