Ministry of Health and Prevention, UAE

The Ministry of Health and Prevention is responsible for the implementation of health care policy in The United Arab Emirates, and cooperation with the private healthcare sector, both locally and internationally.

In the inaugural Middle East Stevie Awards, the UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention won two Gold and three Silver 2020 Stevie Awards for their innovations in attracting and developing nurses and midwives, their Performance and Clinical Excellence Program (PaCE), and their National Program for Early Detection of Congenital Heart Disorders.

To attract new nurses to the profession, MoHAP created a comprehensive media campaign. To engage and develop nurses, an ‘escape room’ game was developed to enhance nurses’ learning while fostering teamwork, leadership, creative thinking and communication. And MoHAP conducted a regional policy dialogue in coordination with the WHO’s 2020 Year of the Nurse and Midwife.

MoHAP’s performance and Clinical Excellence Program (PaCE) is a data-warehouse and business intelligence platform delivering accurate, timely, clinical, administrative, and operational data to monitor and evaluate the efficient delivery of health care. And MoHAP successfully integrated universal newborn CCHD screenings with the National Program for Early Detection of Congenital Heart Disorders in their maternity hospitals.

With the vision to have an effective and sustainable Healthcare System for a happy society, the UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention provides comprehensive, innovative, and fair healthcare services for the UAE and beyond.
