GA&Security of KAUST
The Government Affairs & Security Department (GA & Security) is one of the main departments of King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST), a graduate-level research university located in Saudi Arabia. GA & Security is a customer-centric environment that provides various services to the KAUST workforce, visitors and community members. The department has two main teams; Government Affairs, which serves as the arm that represents KAUST with government agencies, and Security, which provides a safe and secure environment for all at KAUST.
In the inaugural Middle East Stevie Awards, The Government Affairs & Security Department of KAUST won a 2020 Silver Stevie Award for Innovation in House or Internal Organs and Publications for their 2019 Annual Report
The 2019 GA & Security Annual Report serves as a record of the progress made throughout the year. The team wanted to create a multi-purpose, cross-platform publication suitable for different audiences that highlights their primary services, ranging from ID issuance, vehicle stickers, visa process, and more.
In the production of the report, the challenge was to communicate in a simple, precise and efficient way the activities of the department in two dimensions: day-to-day operations and special initiatives. The report theme was structured around working smarter, while creating unique customer experiences driven by the department’s vision. A number of the GA & Security staff created the design elements and curated the overall production. And, as a champion of sustainability, the GA & Security Report was converted to an electronic book available online through a trackable link and a QR code.
The report has garnered positive feedback and serves as a source of pride that the GA & Security team uses to demonstrate the value of their efforts, and reflects their desire to be the best.
