    Introduction

FEDS Drone Powered Solutions (FEDS) has been revolutionising the Middle East’s commercial drone space since it introduced the Drones-as-a-Service (DaaS) concept nearly a decade ago. Through its DT3 (Drone Tech, Data Tech & Digital Transformation) approach, innovative spirit and expert staff, FEDS provides unmatched and comprehensive drone solutions across multiple sectors, stands as the number one drone service provider in the Middle East, and one of the most highly reputed drone companies in the world.

    Innovative technology

Cutting edge technology is easily accessible today, however an innovative mind-set and a total understanding of client requirements is critical to delivering a bespoke solution.

With significant accrued expertise by delivering powerful solutions across sectors in 35 countries, FEDS combines artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), image recognition, technology aided analysis and modern drone platforms to revolutionise the traditional mapping, monitoring, filming and inspection processes. These complex and challenging processes traditionally required significant time commitments, could pose danger to engineer/operator health, and were quite expensive due to the different resources needed.

    Customer service in action

FEDS recently made the process of solar panel commissioning for a client simpler and more efficient. Working with TerraStruc Energy Services, FEDS used drones (three sets of DJI M300 RTK drones with the DJI Zenmuse H20T payload) for the quick, safe and efficient collection of data on a solar project spanning 3.5sqkm. The drones collected in the realm of 16,000 images, and this data was then analysed with Aerodyne’s vertikalitiSOLAR AI solution.

The final report enabled the client to precisely locate solar panel anomalies and rectify them before the panels became fully operational, as part of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park. Typically, a traditional inspection would take a team of engineers traveling on foot with handheld tools several weeks, however the FEDS team set a target to cover the area in five days, but actually covered the entire project area in just four days. By leveraging AI to automate the analysis of so much data, the comprehensive mission report was also produced in less than a week. This represented a significant time and cost saving for the client, whilst sparing engineers/operators from the strenuous task of manual inspections under the Arabian sun.

    Revolutionary innovation: design and development

FEDS is committed to piloting and implementing innovative solutions across various sectors in the region. FEDS is presently focused on revolutionising drone-based logistics and is working with Dubai Future Foundation's Future Labs initiative to make drone last-mile delivery a reality in the UAE.

Over the years, FEDS has worked with a variety of clients, including governments, to deliver solutions across power & utilities, public safety & security, telecommunications, environment & conversation and municipal services. Due to FEDS’ extensive expertise and innovative nature, the company is seen as a trusted and reliable partner for government projects - every government client FEDS has worked with on one project, has returned to collaborate with the company on subsequent projects. The company is seen as a ‘Preferred Solution Partner’ today.

The repeated trust from governmental organisations underscores FEDS’ expertise, reliability and consistence of service quality, and is mirrored by FEDS’ work with private sector clients.

FEDS is also fully compliant with safety and compliance requirements; the company is proud to be the region’s only ISO-rated drone operator (ISO 21384-3), and ensures it operates at the highest international standards.

    Organisational excellence

FEDS has witnessed significant growth in terms of staff count and operational capacity in recent years. Today, FEDS is proud to count 50 highly skilled and motivated individuals as part of its team, up from 34 individuals in 2022, and 28 in 2021. This consistent upward trajectory is a testament to FEDS’ unwavering commitment to excellence and innovation in the drone service industry.
