    As a result, the UAE government has initiated a national transformative project by launching the "Jahiz" initiative to enhance government employee readiness with future skills.

    Jahiz designed as a proactive measure to:

    1. Respond to reskilling and upskilling challenges
    2. Spearhead the development of federal government employees
    3. Enhance employees’ preparedness for the future. 
    4. Provide a dedicated free training digital platform for government employees in the UAE.
    5. Offer free digital training programs for UAE government employees.
    6. Deliver training programs designed to upskilling the UAE government employees and equip them with skills that align with future requirements.
    7. Develop specialized training programs for UAE government employees that are aligned with the UAE Vision 2031 and national directions while also being in sync with global trends.
    8. Elevate the readiness of UAE government employees with future skills.

      Jahiz designed in partnership between the Government Development and the Future Office and the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources. This project encompassed the importance of preparing over than 65,000 government employees, enhancing their capabilities and skills to keep up with both current and future requirements of the job market, through:

    9. Identifying and studying the key skills needed for the present and upcoming periods:
      • Four skill categories were determined based on global studies for their significance, as well as local studies to address gaps among government employees (Digital Skills, Data and AI Skills, New Economy Skills, and 10X Skills.)
      • Overall, Jahiz comprises 20 subskills and more than 90 modules
      • As employees finish the required modules, they earn badges for their Future Skills Wallet.
    10. Designing and delivering training programs in a manner suitable for all job categories:
      • Various learning levels such as beginner and advanced.
      • Offering additional training programs that support the core training skills, allowing trainees to optionally elevate their benefits from the specified training programs.
    11. Collaborating with both the public and private sectors to develop training programs, involving experts and specialists in their respective fields:
      • partnerships with more than 18 international organizations and leading governmental entities, each contributing their exceptional expertise.
      • Noteworthy entities such as Microsoft, Accenture, Amazon Web Services, Apolitical, Mindvalley, and Udacity have actively engaged in the initiative by embracing specific skill sets.
      • Developing customized learning pathways and modules for government employees
      • Partnership contributions without imposing any financial cost on the government.
    12. Establishing effective methods for upskilling, training, and development:
      • Creating a user-friendly digital platform (designed based on user experience principles) accessible to government employees anytime and anywhere.
      • Offering features like digital assessments, certificates, tracking training progress, saving and following up, and other functionalities to provide an exceptional digital training experience.
      • Easy to use by Integration Jahiz platform with existing HR management systems across the federal government level
      • Providing reports and dashboard for HR departments in the federal entities to follow-up and review the progress and feedback.
    13. Providing a specialized training track for UAE government leaders (Master Class), which involves live workshops and direct interactions with experts in future skills areas. This enables leaders to engage in discussions and dialogues surrounding these skills.

      Due to the project's significance, it was embraced by the leadership of the country and regarded as one of the most crucial transformative projects on the UAE government agenda. An exclusive corporate identity was established for the project, accompanied by a marketing campaign that effectively conveyed the project's objectives to all targeted audiences. Leaders actively participated in promoting the initiative, such as the launch message from His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, the Prime Minister, on Twitter. Additionally, federal government leaders engaged within the Master Class programs as part of the marketing efforts for the initiative.

    In accordance with the objectives set for the Jahiz Project, which entails offering one million training hours to federal government employees, and achieving 100% readiness of government employees with the specified future skills, efforts have been focused on achieving these targets, monitoring progress and identifying supportive KPIs. Some examples include:

    • The number of registered employees on the platform reached over than 56,000 employees who accessed the platform and started their learning journey from 54 government entities.
    • The number of training programs launched on the platform totalled 62 training programs for the first and second groups of designated skills.
    • The number of Master Class programs targeting government totalled 11 training programs, with total of 672 badges for leaders at various levels.
    • Over than 500,000 training hours were completed by federal government employees by the end of the first and second groups of designated skills.
    • A total of 375,000 badges were awarded to trainees who attended and successfully passed the training program assessments by the end of the first and second groups of designated skills.
    • Participants satisfaction of the training programs reached 89%, and satisfaction with the digital training platform reached over than 95% for a sample size of 4,256 employees from more than 40 government entities.
    • According to the Future Skills Readiness Index, readiness among federal government employees with future skills reached over than 40% by the end of the first and second groups of designated skills.
    • A new support service was launched to assist users of the digital training platform. Marketing campaigns were conducted to promote Jahiz programs, highlighting their importance, in addition to conducting several workshops to familiarize employees with the platform.
    • The "Jahiz Race" award was introduced to recognize outstanding entities that encourage their employees to participate in and complete training programs within specified timeframes. More than 6 government entities have been honored during the recent period.
    • Jahiz currently delivers beginner-level modules and learning journeys for employees to make sure we build a solid foundation for all regardless of their knowledge of the subject matter. In the future, we plan to sustain the impact of Jahiz by providing advanced-level content and new skill groups to be aligned with the relevant skills and topics of our time. From a cost sustainability point of view, our partners ‘adopt’ skills relevant to their area of expertise and develop tailored learning paths and modules, without any cost to the government.
