Key Approaches to Achieving Our Goal
- Digi Excellence
We empower employees by engaging them in our Digi program, encouraging active participation and making digitalization an integral part of our daily operations. We actively promote the program to ensure its widespread adoption across the organization.
- Campfire Initiatives
The Campfire initiative focuses on improving employee and customer experiences and enhancing business efficiencies through digital solutions. Employees are encouraged to contribute ideas that can positively impact operations and business outcomes.
- Digi Value Creation
We prioritize business value creation through Design Thinking and First Choice frameworks, which help us identify innovation opportunities, solve problems creatively, and drive sustainable growth.
Campfire: A Platform for Innovation
Our Campfire initiative is a collaborative platform that allows employees to share digitalization ideas. Through this platform, employees can discover existing initiatives or create new ones that aim to improve operational efficiency and enhance employee-customer interactions. This year, we are excited to introduce Campfire version 3, which marks a significant milestone in our digital transformation. The platform encourages contributions from employees across all functions and regions, fostering a culture of innovation.
Digi Champions and Idea Evaluation
To streamline the evaluation of ideas, we formed a team of Digi Champions from various departments. This team reviews ideas submitted via Campfire, assessing their potential impact. Once evaluated, valuable ideas are moved to a benefit category and assigned a project manager.
For ideas that require changes to global applications, the Local IT team collaborates with regional stakeholders to submit formal change requests with business justifications. For local developments, the IT team uses the Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI) to create cost-effective solutions without incurring additional expenses.
Notable Projects
Throughout the year, the IT team at DHL Express Bahrain has successfully developed over 10 impactful applications that enhance efficiency and improve both internal and external customer experiences. Below are some examples:
- Faulty Report Tool
Developed using Power Apps, this tool digitizes the previously manual maintenance request process. It reduces response times, tracks maintenance tasks, and provides valuable data for performance analysis.
- Employee Onboarding/Offboarding Application
A Power Apps solution that streamlines the onboarding and offboarding process. It ensures compliance with company policies and legal requirements, providing a smooth, automated workflow. This tool has onboarded 95 new employees and offboarded 34 to date.
- Asset Movement Tracking
This app tracks the movement of company assets, providing real-time updates to the finance team and ensuring accurate inventory records, helping to mitigate audit findings and discrepancies.
- Security Checklist Digitalization
This initiative digitized the Security Checklist for X-ray calibration using Power Apps. It improves compliance and security monitoring by ensuring that X-ray machines are regularly calibrated, while enabling efficient data storage and access via SharePoint. Since its launch, we have over 4,440 checklist records.
