At Capital 360, we are dedicated to creating events that drive positive change, foster community connections, and inspire collective action. As a nonprofit initiative, the 12th World Environmental Education Congress (WEEC) 2024 exemplifies our mission to support global conversations on sustainability and environmental education.

WEEC 2024 served as a critical platform for educators, policymakers, grassroots organizations, and community leaders to discuss, learn, and collaborate on solutions for some of the most pressing environmental challenges of our time. Held in Abu Dhabi for the first time in its history, the congress highlighted the UAE’s commitment to sustainability, innovation, and community-driven progress, all while maintaining its nonprofit ethos.

WEEC 2024 aimed to provide an inclusive and collaborative space for nonprofits, community groups, and individuals to share ideas, solutions, and best practices, transcending barriers of geography and socioeconomic status.

    Aims and Objectives

    1. Facilitating Global Collaboration
WEEC 2024 sought to connect nonprofits, educators, and policymakers to advance environmental education and foster international partnerships focused on sustainability and education for all.

    2. Expanding Accessibility and Inclusivity
As a nonprofit event, the congress prioritized making its content and opportunities accessible to diverse communities, including underrepresented groups, youth organizations, and grassroots nonprofits.

    3. Empowering Local and Global Communities
WEEC 2024 was designed to inspire participants to take tangible actions within their own communities, amplifying the impact of the congress far beyond the event itself.

    4. Positioning Abu Dhabi as a Sustainability Advocate
The event showcased Abu Dhabi’s leadership in environmental education and sustainability, reinforcing the UAE’s vision for a greener and more inclusive future.

    Innovative Elements

    1. Nature-Inspired Immersive Design
The venue design was inspired by Abu Dhabi’s iconic mangrove ecosystems, reflecting the importance of environmental resilience. Eco-conscious materials were used throughout the event, and interactive displays immersed attendees in discussions about global environmental challenges and potential solutions.

    2. Hybrid and Digital Accessibility
To maximize global participation, WEEC 2024 integrated a hybrid event model that combined in-person activities with virtual experiences. QR codes and AR-enhanced content provided digital access to session materials, ensuring the congress reached individuals in remote or underserved regions.

    3. Community-Driven Programming
The event’s agenda included over 150 sessions designed with input from nonprofits, educators, and community leaders. Topics ranged from climate justice to grassroots activism, ensuring relevance and resonance with diverse audiences.

    4. Youth Engagement and Inclusion
A dedicated Youth Forum brought together young leaders from around the world to share their innovative solutions to sustainability challenges. This forum provided a platform for amplifying youth voices and fostering cross-generational dialogue.

    5. Sustainability in Execution
WEEC 2024 embodied its mission by integrating sustainability into every aspect of the event. 90% of printed materials were replaced with digital alternatives, 70% of materials used were recyclable or repurposed, and all waste was managed through eco-conscious systems.

    Impact and Evaluation
