Zingbox is the provider of the leading IoT analytics platform. Zingbox solution is the most widely deployed healthcare Internet of Things (IoT) analytics platform in the industry with more than 150 hospitals relying on Zingbox to secure their connected medical devices. Zingbox helps organizations realize the full potential of their IoT devices, delivering a new standard for uninterrupted service through device inventory, management, security, and optimization for the entire IoT environment. The company’s device-specific AI-powered machine learning platform uses the first real-time deep behavioral learning technology for IoT devices.

Traditional security solutions designed to protect the homogeneous IT assets have proven to be insufficient for IoT devices. The wide range of underlying OS, inability to support AV or other clients, and difficulty in patching have rendered much of the traditional security solutions ineffective. Zingbox pioneered the IoT personality-based approach to secure IoT. Each IoT device exhibits certain functions, flow and vulnerabilities regardless of where it is deployed. ZingBox uses this device personality-based approach, conceptualized at Stanford University, to detect zero-day cyber and insider threats without having any footprint on IoT devices. They are the first solution that applies deep learning technology to inventory, manage, secure and optimize every connected device. Based on this self-learned IoT personality, ZingBox evaluates IoT risk exposure, and proactively secures business critical assets in real-time.

Zingbox recognizes however the need for organizations to streamline their operations. Hence, Zingbox have actively partnered with traditional IT security vendors such as Cisco and VMware to maximize organization’s ROI. Rather than relegating these solutions to enforce security for just IT devices, Zingbox integration enable these devices to extend their value to IoT devices.

The partnerships extend to asset management/CMMS vendors as well such as AIMS, Nuvolo, and Accruent. These integration transforms traditional static asset management solutions to modern real-time inventory systems.

Zingbox focus doesn’t stop with the award-winning product, service, and integration. Dedicated security researcher continues to uncover new vulnerabilities and cybersecurity threats. Zingbox routinely works with Dept of Homeland Security and device manufacturers to proactively protect devices from potential attack. These findings also contribute to the machine learning algorithm which powers the Zingbox solution to continually enhance the artificial intelligence.


The company’s healthcare customers perhaps face the greatest challenge in securing connected medical devices to ensure patient safety. Dr. May Wang is Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and Co-founder of Zingbox, a Gartner Cool Vendor in Internet of Things (IoT) Security. May was previously a Principal Architect in the Cisco CTO office driving new technology initiatives, especially IoT. Her algorithms have been deployed in many of Cisco’s best-selling products. May also serves on the advisory boards of multiple VC firms and tech companies.

May has been the recipient of numerous awards including Silicon Valley Women of Influence, Female CxO Trailblazers Award, and several Stevie Awards. She received her Ph.D. from Stanford University in Electrical Engineering.
