Marija Zivanovic-Smith oversees all communications and public affairs including Government, Public, Community and University Relations, and the Employer Brand for NCR. She is the champion of NCR’s culture and brand identity.

As champion for NCR’s global brand, she’s secured two critical legislative victories and negotiated over $300M in global incentives, including $29M since July 2017. This includes the highest-ever granted support from the state of Georgia and City of Atlanta for NCR’s global headquarters relocation.

In 2018, Zivanovic-Smith and team achieved a 51% increase in Y/Y brand awareness in target media outlets. With Zivanovic-Smith’s strategy, NCR dominates share of voice (SOV) among its top competitors.

Internationally, Zivanovic-Smith plays a pivotal role in leading the emerging markets strategy for NCR. She advises on market access approaches and helps to determine how the company can remain competitive internationally.

Zivanovic-Smith, who is fluent in three languages, led the investment of NCR’s modern-day presence in Atlanta (GA), Serbia, Malaysia, India, and Scotland. She builds meaningful government, university and community relations to create ecosystems for success for NCR and its customers.

Within the last 12 months, Zivanovic-Smith’s international successes include:

-Negotiating incentives with the Serbian government, resulting in a new, first of its kind, digital services campus in the Balkans
-Joining the Serbian Blockchain Board, dedicated to expanding the platform throughout Eastern Europe
-Increasing awareness within APEC governments about the growing threat of data localization laws
-Leading the team to recruit more than 300 interns and 100 full-time employees through strategic partnerships with top colleges and universities

Zivanovic-Smith is one of three White House appointed U.S. representatives to the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Business Advisory Council (ABAC). Within the ABAC, Zivanovic-Smith serves as a proponent for expanding the digital economy and opening doors for wider digital trade.

Additionally, Zivanovic-Smith is a leading voice in the advancement of women in international business. In July 2018, she moderated the high-profile Empowering Women Forum in Kuala Lumpur and kicked off a women’s empowerment network at NCR’s Kuala Lumpur campus.

As champion of NCR’s culture and brand, she also oversees the NCR Foundation, which provides grants that help people become self-sufficient in communities around the globe. She has grown and expanded its volunteer Ambassador program to NCR offices in 40 countries.

She also serves on the Information Technology Industry Council (ITIC) Board of Directors, the Advisory Board of Serbian Blockchain Initiative (SBI), the City of Atlanta WEI Board, and is a trustee of the NCR Foundation.
