Dr. Fischer-Wright is the President and CEO of Medical Group Management Association (MGMA) where she leads a nationally-acclaimed organization that represents more than 45,000 medical practices, managingabout 385,000 physicians. Altogether, these practices service half of all patients in the United States.Her empowering style of leadership has been instrumental in transforming MGMA from a venerable institution into one that is agile and innovative, inspiring employees, members, and the entire healthcare industry.

Dr. Fischer-Wright is a renowned physician and businessleader. Having worked as a provider, hospital executive, practice executive, and national advocate on bringing common sense back to healthcare. Her unique 360-degree perspective has given her the experience and confidence needed to lead such incredible change.Her leadership philosophy is built on a foundation of collaboration with the knowledge that excellent business practices ultimately benefit the patient—the bottom-up approach she knows will transform the American healthcare system.

As President and CEO of MGMA, Dr. Fischer-Wright has led an extraordinary transformation of the institutional healthcare association model. She has set a clear example ofeffective leadership in healthcare,building a high-performing team that is deliveringoutstanding business outcomes at MGMA,andsignificantly increasing membership. Since becoming CEO, she has grown the organization’s revenue by 35% and increased its membership by 50%, while also bringing employee satisfaction to 90% up from 40% at the time she assumed the role. Dr. Fischer-Wright credits this success to her development of an industry-leading executive team and bringing profound and positive change in the organization’s culture.

One of Dr. Fischer-Wright’s proudest contribution to a culture of innovation within MGMAand the industry of healthcareis her leadership at Catalyst Health-Tech Innovation, an innovative health tech incubator in Denver that opened this summer and brings together health systems, entrepreneurs, health finance companies, and tech companies to develop innovative solutions to issues in our healthcare delivery system and further MGMA’s mission of transforming healthcare in the United States.

In October of 2017, Dr. Fischer-Wright also authored her second best-selling book, Back to Balance: The Art, Science, and Business of Medicine, which is a prescription for physicians and medical practice administrators to rethink the way they deliver care to patients and, ultimately, to transform the healthcare industry from the bottom-up.

She is currently a board member on the Healthcare Leadership Alliance and CAHME and has received numerous awards including Modern Healthcare’s Top 25 Women in Healthcare, Top 100 Healthcare Influencers in 2015, 2016, and 2017, Most Powerful Woman in Healthcare IT, as well as the international business Stevie Awards’ Maverick of the Year in 2016.

It’s this diversity ofexperiencethat makes her professional achievements so unique, from being a New York Times bestseller,respected board member,mentor, an experienced practice physician,leader amongst healthcare associations, and collaborative partner to the health tech industry.

She’s served on the Advisory Board of the University of Colorado Executive MBA/MHA Program, served as an Assistant Clinical Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Colorado and was a guest lecturer at the University of Southern California’s Marshall School of Business for four years.
