It is withgreat honor we nominate Christina Seelye, founder and CEO of Maximum Games (MG), for the 2018 Stevies Female Entrepreneur of the Year Award in recognition of her phenomenalleadership and achievement in the growth and expansion of Maximum Games. Despite MG being privately owned and significantly smaller than its competitors, Christinacontinues to seek out choiceopportunities and take important risks in order tosucceed in the saturated market of video games. In fact, MG reigns among the Top 20Video Game Publishers in the world, as reportedby NPD Research Group.
With offices in both the US and UK, Maximum Games has seen tremendous global growth since 2017. Since last July, Christina has accepted numerous awards, such as the 2017 and 2018 Inc. 5000, SF Business Times' Fast 100, Deloitte's TechnologyFast 500, and The Women Presidents' Organization's Annual 50 Fastest-Growing Women-Owned/Led Companiesaward.
Christina has also made huge strides in expanding MG'slibrary of products this yearby securing partnerships with two of the biggest video game publishers in Europe: Bigben InteractiveandKoch Media. These relationships allow Maximum Games to bring in a healthy flow of product and revenue. Due to Christina’s tenacity and incredible business instinct,her company has greatly expanded itsreach and achieved abroader base of consumers.
Last year, Christina not only had continued success as a video game publisher but dove into the realm of development, as well. In 2017, Maximum Games announced its very first in-house developed video game,Extinction, along with a sub-label called Modus Games to represent this new trajectory of owned-IP games.Extinctionmade a huge splash with its announcement trailer and was a finalist inthe video game industry's biggest and most prestigious marketing award show, Promax, for “Best Promotional Trailer – Indie Game.” The game successfully launched on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. These milestones highlight Christina’s enthusiastic determinationto lead her company as one of the industry’s best.
Christina does not only exhibit tremendous business savvy, but she also displays great care in the growth and welfare of her employees. For example, she assembles Thought Leadership meetings for employees of all levels. She believes that all her employees can contribute in significant ways and gives them the opportunity to do so. A risk taker herself, Christinaencouragesher employees to think and act outside their comfort zone, as well,instillingconfidence in her subordinates.
While her international travel schedule would make anyone exhausted, Christina manages to be in the office every day she is not on the road (or in the air), holding herself up the same standards to which she holds her employees. A wife and mother of three, Christina is also a local volunteer, and is a member of the C200 - a powerful community of the most successful women in business.
This past year, Christina also organized a profit sharing benefit for her employees, in addition to offering an employer-contributed 401k plan.
