OVERVIEW

Kit Out Your Crib (KOYC) specializes in 'kitting out' university students with all of their homeware essentials.

KOYC provides a variety of home starter packs (‘kits’) to top Universities and leading providers in student accommodation (B2B sales).

It also services customers (students) directly through its online e-commerce platforms (B2C sales).

KOYC operates in Australia, New Zealand and the United States.

It is owned and operated by Dani O’Reilly (28, from Australia). Dani launched KOYC in 2013 following her own experience as an international student in China and after identifying a gap in Australia’s surging international student market. Dani built the business from the ground up – engineering the product herself. It is the first of its kind in Australia’s colossal student accommodation industry.

ACTIVITIES AND ACCOMPLISHMENTS SINCE 1 JULY 2016

 

EXPANDED TO THE USA – Previously operating in Australia and New Zealand

From the sunny shores of Australia’s Gold Coast, to the bustling streets of Manhattan
The past 12 months has seen Kit Out Your Crib expand further internationally, now assisting B2B clients across the United States. Dani spent three exciting months living in the United States last year, where she:

-Incorporated the new US entity (Kit Out Your Crib Inc);
-Established offices in New York;
-Established a fulfillment network ex Kentucky;
-Researched the US market and further customized and enhanced the product.

Kit Out Your Crib Inc’s first shipment was to New York and Philadelphia in August 2016, servicing the needs of one of the world’s largest student accommodation providers. The positive reception of the product has resulted in further shipments to Texas and Illinois.

KOYC has also assisted incoming US study-abroad groups in Australia, including large student-exchange groups from Universities in New York, Massachusetts and Indiana.

INTERNATIONAL REACH OF B2C E-COMMERCE SALES

KOYC prides itself on making the transition to University easier - particularly for international students arriving in Australia from overseas (please see short video attached).

Since 1 July 2016, our e-commerce sites have processed orders from students in more than 30+ countries, including sales from throughout Europe and the United Kingdom, North America, Central America, Africa, the Middle East, and across Asia and the Pacific.

SALES VOLUME

More than 7,500+ kits sold in the past 12 months – to students, parents, universities and businesses from all across the globe.

Additional sales for other loose and miscellaneous items.

ANNUAL TURNOVER

$1MILLION+ in annual turnover (FY ending 30 June 2017) – with only 1 full time employee (self) and 1 part time employee.

MANUFACTUING EXPANSION

Manufacturing expansion (previously in Guangzhou, China) – new facility added in Shanghai, China.

Warehousing expansion (previously in Brisbane, Australia) – new facilities added in Sydney, Australia and Perth, Australia.

Dani is 28 years old and resides on Australia’s beautiful Gold Coast. She is proud to be a young woman in business and is an avid entrepreneur.

In 2013, Dani was the recipient of the prestigious Australian Anthill Magazine's '30-Under-30' competition, an award which recognizes Australia’s top 30 entrepreneurs under the age of 30 for their outstanding entrepreneurial endeavors.

She has also been named as a finalist at the ‘Australian Small Business Champion Awards’ and the ‘Brisbane Business News Young Entrepreneur of the Year Awards’.

Dani previously worked as a Solicitor and was admitted to the Supreme Court of Queensland in 2011. She holds an LLB (Hons) and a Bachelor of International Business. She has also studied at the acclaimed Zhejiang University in Hanghou, China.
