Nomination Title: Wendy Lewis: A Lifetime of Achievements

Describe for the judges the nominated individual's lifetime of accomplishments (up to 525 words):

To say Wendy Lewis is a lifelong entrepreneur is no exaggeration. Her first business endeavor came at age 8 when she started a summer camp from her parents’ back patio, charging neighborhood kids to make arts and crafts projects and participate in lawn games. As the co-founder of a billion-dollar global direct selling company, Wendy has come a long way since starting that backyard business, garnering two dozen prestigious business awards for her leadership and entrepreneurial success, including being named a 2017 Entrepreneur of the Year Florida Finalist.

Wendy began her professional career as a math teacher, and has leveraged this background in math and logic to succeed in top-level leadership roles. In 1985, Wendy and her husband, Randy Ray founded Automated Medical Systems Consultants (AMSC) which provided software systems for medical practices. Wendy served as the President and Director of Customer Operations. Under her direction, AMSC was the number one medical practice management supplier in both sales and service for eight consecutive years until the company was sold in 1994 for $5 million. The hardware division was spun off and Wendy and Randy continued to run it as Alpha Computer Services. In 2000, Alpha Computer Services ranked #184 on the Inc. 500 list of fastest-growing private companies in America, and was later sold for $24 million.

Wendy’s expertise in mathematics and statistics also served her well in her next entrepreneurial ventures developing back-office software for direct selling companies and constructing compensation plans. Her current, and most successful, business triumph is Jeunesse — the extraordinary direct selling company she came out of retirement to found in 2009. In the company’s short eight-year history, while Wendy has led the company in day-to-day operations, Jeunesse has experienced remarkable success:

-Reached milestone billion-dollar annual sales in 2015 after just six years — a direct selling industry record.
-Ranked four years consecutively on the Inc. 500|5000 list. In 2016, Jeunesse was one of only nine companies with billion-dollar sales to appear on the Inc. 500 in the list’s 35-year history, and in 2017 is one of just three billion-dollar companies in the top 1000.
-Jeunesse has ranked on the Direct Selling News (DSN) Global 100 since 2012, and is currently ranked #14.
-In 2017, Jeunesse was selected as the DSN 2017 Bravo Growth Award recipient for growing annual sales by $1 billion from 2014 to 2016.
-Jeunesse products are available in over 200 markets on six continents.
-The company has garnered more than 290 awards since 2012 including:
-Company of the Year (ten-time recipient)
-Fastest-Growing Company of the Year (four-time recipient), along with more than a dozen other growth-related awards
-Best Places to Work in Direct Selling
-Corporate Social Responsibility Program of the Year for Jeunesse Kids™ (three-time recipient)

Although Wendy’s list of accomplishments and accolades is indeed impressive, but for Wendy, achievement is measured by how her life has impacted others, stating, “I truly care about people and want the best success for everyone — our staff and our members. Looking back, I will hope to have made a difference for others, leaving a legacy of care and compassion for people.”
