Describe for the judges the activities and accomplishments of the nominated employee since the beginning of July last year (up to 525 words):
It is truly difficult to articulate the contributions that Kristin Kacir has had on the overall success of our business and the Dallas technology community as a whole. As Director of Marketing at Improving she leads all public relations, branding, and digital marketing activities for our five international offices. Furthermore, as part of the corporate leadership team, she is a key contributor whose influence is broad and deep, both inside and outside of the company.
Kristin took over as Improving’s leading marketing officer under very unusual circumstances when her predecessor and mentor unexpectedly passed away. Although in her 20’s, she was given the opportunity to take a key leadership role in an entrepreneurial company and has been a vital role in Improving's success, especially in the area of Public Relations. Her efforts in this area are one of the most significant reasons for Improving's continued achievements over the past year. Because marketing is perhaps the most critical and strategic part of our business, much of our success can be contributed to her efforts and programs. Marketing is extremely pervasive in Improving’s business reaching well beyond the traditional measures of brand and lead generation. Recruiting, employee retention, customer appreciation, and community support (inside and outside of the company) have all been significantly impacted through her involvement.
One example of her influence at our company is the many recognitions that Improving has received as a direct result of her efforts. Improving has been one of the fastest growing companies in the United States across all industries and perennially included in the Inc. 500/5000 for 8 consecutive years. Furthermore, the events and community support that she leads have attracted over 10,000 professionals in the last twelve months - which is truly unheard of in the technology services industry (or probably any industry). As a result, Improving has quickly become one of the more recognized technology brands in the software development sector in cities of Dallas, Houston, Columbus, and Calgary.
Kristin is a regular contributor to many “communities” – in the marketing community, she was recently named to the Board of Directors for the Dallas Chapter of the American Marketing Association (AMA) which contains more than 600 active members. In the Dallas technology community, she hosts over 50 local technology user groups per month, taking personal time 2-3 nights per week to host meetings across the Metroplex for designers, developers, project managers, and marketing professionals. And more recently, she has joined the Conscious Capitalism community and has been an active member of trying to develop conscious businesses.
I have followed these awards for several years and it is hard to imagine a more qualified person for a young entrepreneurial recognition. I believe Kristin’s qualifications are unmatched for a person at this stage of their career. In general, the technology service industry is a very difficult sector for Marketing professionals and as a result it is uncommon (if not unheard of) to find a truly successful marketing executive. Not only has she succeeded, but Kristin is helping to define what marketing means for technology service companies in the cities we operate.
