In July 2016, Goldieblox unveiled its new app designed to encourage kids aged four and up to get coding

Named: GoldieBlox: Adventures in Coding – The Rocket Cupcake Co, the app, using real coding concepts, takes young inventors on a mission to help Goldie deliver cupcakes to everyone in Bloxtown

“At GoldieBlox, our mission is to break down gender stereotypes by providing more options for kids to explore,” said Debbie Sterling, founder and CEO

"The coding app ... is unlike any coding app on the market because it follows along with the story. It gives girls a reason to code."

In 2015, only 25%of the computing workforce were women. That’s why it’s important for GoldieBlox to encourage girls in particular, to develop an early interest
