Nomination Title: Esther Rovira, CEO
Describe for the judges the activities and accomplishments of the nominated entrepreneur since the beginning of July last year (up to 525 words):
HOW IT ALL STARTED
In July 2017 Esther was searching to develop an easier method for people to get closer to their dreamed house.
It had to relate Architecture, Virtual reality, Augmented reality and Construction Internationally by using internet, phone and tablet. However it also had to be related to the offline construction sector by delivering quality sustainable materials through first quality local installers.
On the 5th of September 2017 a combo team started to work with minimum resources and a lot of enthusiasm.
Esther, as most entrepreneurs, took full responsibility and risks taking almost full chairwoman seats. Then taking all actions as CEO, COO and CPO in order to lead this project by taking it into a reality. Sureshkumar, as a post-student collaborator was set as the crucial CTO of the project. Together we have enjoyed working on this idea to create what it is today a reality.
On September 2018, we are happy to present CasaAPP which is ready to deliver real houses in all Spain. Also preparing to become International by conquering the European market in the 4yfn awards within the Mobile World Congress in February 2019.
Most important, we are very proud to affirm that all our houses are energy efficient (having an almost-nul-consumption in cooling and heating), wheelchair friendly (accessible bathroom), made with prefabricated wood systems (saving time and money) and high quality finishings and brands. All this improves the inhabitants health (since wood reduces condensation and humidity which is better for our lungs) and reduces the ecological footprint (by achieving negative levels of CO2 during construction and house lifetime) while taking care of our future elderly society.
Throughout this last semester of 2018, we have been developing the B2B sales strategy and contacted 80 luxury resorts in the province to offer our personalized designed service to deliver luxury sustainable suites with universal accessibility distribution and negative CO2 footprint to better connect with Nature.
Furthermore, by the end of this year, we will have a real prototype built and ready to test in a social-sanitary wheelchair environment.
Esther has lead this entrepreneurial project from scratch with very few resources and support but with a lot of enthusiasm. She has been responsible of designing the vision, delivering all the executions, saving efforts to keep the wheels on the bus and making sure everyone related connects with the mission.
More specifically, Esther has designed the method, user experience, interface and even the houses’ design, architecture and construction details herself. Then designing the very front end and monitoring the backend, making sure everything and everybody was aligned with the vision.
Also making connections with providers and installers of the local construction sector to create the needed base data of finishings and prices. This has flourish by engaging 25 partners.
Due to personal reasons, Suresh had to leave Barcelona in July 2018 to his hometown in India. Even though he started as an intern, Esther offered him to be a co-founder of CasaAPP. They still work together developing this project despite the distance.
We are hoping to deliver our healthy houses to more people to improve their lives and future.
