To meet Tagui Veronica Manoyan, the unassuming CEO and Design/Creative Director of Bon Choix Couture, you’d never know that her company is one of the leading costume design shops in the U.S., so quiet, so discreet, so “private” is this powerhouse of an entrepreneur.

Bon Choix's client roster is impressive: MichaelJackson (including the iconic sequined military-style jacket and white glove); Tom Cruise; Dancing with the Stars; Rod Stewart; Kenny Rogers; Prince;Robert Downey, Jr.; Sheena Easton; Siegfried and Roy; Rod Stewart’s world tours. A Who’s Who of music, film, TV, of show business. Harrison Ford and Dan Stevens in their next film.

The legend that is Bon Choix Couture began in 2000 when the Los Angeles-based company went bankrupt. Owner Miriam Barbar chose to train Manoyanwho turned out to be a “natural” – at the rare combination of both design and business. Manoyan excelled at deadlines (all asap in performing); at overseeing details (“Idreamcostumes”); at budgeting and finance; at managing staff; at technology (brilliant in mathematics and cybernetics.)

The fact that Bon Choix'spersonable Manoyan “doesn’t talk” (a company joke) is exactly what confidentiality-driven celebrities crave and female stars crave most of all. Manoyan attracts so many new clients the company is always expanding.
The “awards year” of July 2017 on was especially notable because Bon Choix decided to focus on “far bigger projects” including creating costumes for Walt Disney Theme Parks World Wide; for Dubai World Parks; for Norwegian Cruise Lines; Holland America;Disney Cruise Lines.

To please itsexacting clientele in the awards year, Bon Choix continued to create costumes that are unique (a must); comfortable (“they mustbehave”); and “meet every challenge.” For Disney’s blockbuster "Paint The Night Parade” theyweighed 200 pounds/each and litup; for their Pixar Parade they change color second-to-second; for “Pirates of the Caribbean” they maintain their color even though the show is under black light, which always “kills color”.

Nothing, however, prepared Manoyan and her all-female designteam for July 10, 2018 when nearly twenty Disney executives showed up unannounced andhanded Manoyan their Supplier of the Year award. Rarely given, it is selected from amongall suppliersto Disney Parks & Resorts from lighting to complex floats, technical and creative design

The company won for vigilance in meeting deadlines (often overnight); for costumes that withstand constant movement and moisture;and that last for more than one performance.

Bon Choix stands alone, too, in doing all work in-house (the norm is outsourcing); and in spending for top technology (equipment; software) for embroidery, patterns, cutting. This is in addition to hand-beading, custom stoning, hands-on 3D construction. The company is famous for reproducingcostumes directly from original sketches.

The awards yearsaw staff double; work space increased five-fold to 10,000 to provide separate rooms for embroidery, fabric, sequinning, stitching and for fitting rooms for this most fussy clientele and/or their representatives. As of September 2017, Bon Choix alone hand-makes shoes. And Manoyan boosted philanthropy by again generously giving tothe American Lung Association, among others.

No wonder then that 100% of Manoyan’s clients return.
