The Sterling sales team includes 150 sales representatives and sales development representatives at offices throughout the globe including offices in New York, California, Colorado, Ohio, Vancouver, Seattle, UK, Mumbai and Manila. Across the globe, our team is capturing inbound prospects coming from our website, lead generation efforts and content marketing strategy. The Sales Networking program has been instituted which promotes additional cross-functional relationships and collaboration with other departments within Sterling. SalesLoft was recently introduced to the sales development team to increase efficiency and response rates.
Our sales teams go through a strenuous training process and receive training on a continuous basis with a strong focus on verticals. The onboarding process for new sales team members has been updated and is a qualified success. Everyone on the sales team follows the Sandler training approach making it easier for the team to follow standardized procedures. Successful training courses have been created and implemented for our Canada and UK sales team. New training certification programs have also been implemented for major product lines giving teams a more in-depth discussion on Sterling’s products and messaging. The sales team leaders recently completed a leadership training program learning new skills to help their teams thrive. Our leaders are crucial in mentoring new employees to help them get to the next level.
In 2017, Sterling expanded the Sales Support team which allows the sales representatives to do more prospecting and nurturing of their clients instead of spending time on paperwork and administrative duties. This approach puts clients at ease with more support during the deployment and onboarding process as well as reducing the time to close new business. The Sales Support team leverages Level11 and Channel1, internal programs broadcast to the sales team to update successes, contests and quotas. to promote contests and sales team member progress. The contests have provided an increase in new clients, net new opportunities and ultimately new satisfied clients.
As the employment background screening industry continues to become more saturated Sterling is focused on strengthening our core business, while expanding our product, automating manual processes and continually innovating our technology, product, client experience and global offerings.
