Tell the story about what this nominee achieved since the beginning of July 2016 (up to 650 words). Focus on specific accomplishments, and relate these accomplishments to past performance or industry norms. Be sure to mention obstacles overcome, innovations or discoveries made, and outcomes:
Dan McNally is a sales manager who always goes above and beyond to train, encourage, and guide his sales team to success. Under his guidance, Quality 1st Basement Systems has always placed in the top 5 for Basement System Dealers worldwide. This year Quality 1st achieved the number 3 spot over all dealers.
Dan started as a salesman with Quality 1st in 2005 and quickly became an expert on basement waterproofing, foundation and crawl space repair, and concrete lifting. It is this knowledge and his team building spirit that quickly escalated him to Sales Manager. As Manager, sales have increased by 28% each year. In 2016, Dan led a team of 18 salesmen to surpass all records with a 40% increase in sales.
Dan believes that motivation is the key to a winning team and always go the extra mile to ensure all the sales associates have the tools, knowledge and hands on experience to give each and every customer a WOW experience.
Dan tracks number of appointments each team member, runs to their ADL (Average dollar per lead) and shares the information with them so they can visualize their successes.
He teaches each salesman to “Appreciate the lead.” This means to take every issue that the home owner is concerned about and deliver the solution. He believes in showing his team that by caring about the "leads" as individuals, the salesmen will bring that caring attitude to the homeowner and close the sale.
To keep the team motivated and exceeding their individual goals, Dan has created a weekly Sales training meeting where he keeps the sales team updated on product and industry news. This is a time where the team can bring up concerns, ask questions and come together with ideas.
Throughout the week, Dan runs individual and group meetings to sharpen the skills of the newest team members. He invites anyone in the office who would like to attend these meetings to sit in and learn.
To bring the sales and production teams together, Dan created an early morning One Team meeting where they can discuss the upcoming installations to ensure the job goes smoothly and the customers will be happy.
Dan says motivating a sales team is like moving elephants up a mountain. A steady pace and momentum helps them reach the peak. He shares with his team his belief that working with home owners to achieve their goals to keep their homes healthy and dry is one of the biggest rewards.
Dan runs the company blood drives and this year Dan suggested Quality 1st Basement Systems do something for veterans. With his guidance, the A Hero Lives Here, flags for veteran’s program was started. Monmouth County veterans are invited to submit their application to receive a 20’ flag pole and American flag to be installed on their front lawn with asign which proudly proclaims, “A Hero Lives Here” so all will know this is a home of an American Hero.
It is under Dan’s guidance and support that his salesmen have surpassed all the goals set and continues to thrive as individuals and as a team. Quality 1st Basement Systems is lucky to have such a dedicated and inspirational sales manager who always goes the extra mile for his team and for everyone in the company.
