Nomination Title: Modern Training for On-the-Go Sales Teams

Tell the story about this nominated product or service (up to 650 words). Describe its function, features, benefits, and sales to date:

Allego is a modern video-based sales training and enablement platform that engages busy sales reps where they already are – on their mobile devices. By leveraging the power of video and the ubiquity of mobile, Allego provides sales teams with on-the-go access to relevant information, allowing them to quickly and easily refresh their knowledge of important sales topics while on the go. Using the platform, self-motivated sales professionals can record and practice their pitch, and managers can provide point-in-time feedback and coaching, without requiring ridealongs or in-person meetings. Managers can also create assignments on specific deals to ensure that reps are prepared with the best knowledge possible prior to going into a meeting.

No matter how effective an organization’s training, there are limits to the amount of knowledge a person can absorb. Allego recognizes this and provides reps with ubiquitous access to rich media content, meaning salespeople no longer need to be trained on every message, customer story, and objection response. Instead, just-in-time learning gives them easy access to the most relevant information at the exact time of need. For example, before going into a prospect meeting, a rep can pull up a short peer-generated videosharing insights about the particular segment of buyer they’re about to meet and be effectively armed with the most important aspects of value to emphasize.

Allego version 4.3, launched in June 2017, includes Flash Drills: a uniquely powerful gamification feature that helps sales reps to reinforce knowledge from longer classroom training or sales kick-offs. Most sales training is delivered in intense yet infrequent bursts, and research shows that up to 50 to 80 percent of information learned at an event is forgotten just a day later and up to 98 percent after 30 days – unless reinforced. Using Flash Drills, sales trainers can create flash-card style quizzes, delivered to reps via push notifications on their mobile devices, to refresh and reinforce the content learned at these training events. This allows busy sales teams to sharpen their skills and better retain product knowledge in just a few minutes a day, and enables sales managers to emphasize important product information and sales messaging regularly. Moreover, leaderboards and performance metrics provide managers with the assurance that reps are retaining what they learned. Allego’s detailed reports supply executives with insights into knowledge gaps, enabling prescriptive actions that ensure optimal sales performance.

Specific capabilities of Allego’s Flash Drills include:

-Custom processes and tools allow managers to author flashcards in bulk, including importing from Excel® spreadsheets, or allowing a wide range of users to contribute short videos and examples.

-Push notification or email alerts remind reps to practice using flashcards in intelligently spaced intervals. Additionally, intelligence capabilities enable Allego to identify improvement areas and drill reps on problem areas, as well as occasionally remind them of facts they know.

-Automated video game-like accolades engage users and encourage participation, while progress read-outs keep reps and sales managers apprised of progress and mastery.

-Reporting features monitor Flash Drills performance and participation by topic, team, and individual rep using heat maps. Reports can track various groups and time periods to allow for comparisons over time and across teams.

One of Allego’s strengths is the platform’s mobile-first and user-friendly design, which provides sales teams with the fastest and most responsive video watching experience – whether they’re online or offline. When designing Allego, the company was mindful of considerations like bandwidth and storage space usage, as well as data security and industry regulations, and therefore designed the platform around a feature called Allego InstantPlay.Using predictive analytics and based on user data trends, InstantPlay automatically caches the videos users are most likely to watch, meaning that there are ready to play instantly even if the user didn’t have the foresight to queue them for download.Allego also caches as users stream, so watching a video repeatedly doesn't mean the use of extra bandwidth.
