Nomination Title: Ministry of Energy & Infrastructure COVID-19 Response Hub

The Geospatial Smart Hub COVID-19 facility preparation established as a response to the pandemic crises. It was launched to counter the spread of Covid-19 by displaying all the factors related to the epidemic crises in one platform that is accessible by all partners and decision makers. The Hub was launched in record time as all the collaborated partners were dedicated to provide all the required data needed for the hub to display the spread of the Covid-19 in the UAE and the best Action to limit the spread of the epidemic. This initiative was lunched to Inspire people to shift behaviors and policies for the achievement of the Goals; whilst promoting the values of hope and solidarity. Also, to connect partners to increase progress on the Goals, whilst strengthening dialogue and trust between people and institutions at all levels. And this initiative support the Sustainable development goal 3 “health and wellbeing “ and SDG 11 “ sustainable cities and communities ).The project allowed strategic collaboration between multiple federal entities like Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure as the project owner, Ministry of Health as the major beneficiary and National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA) as the standards & regulatory authority. Crisis teams of all entities working in harmony and with highest levels of commitment and responsibility to manage the pandemic crisis based on international standards, latest technologies and with the highest quality.

The platform relies on the use of Artificial Intelligence technologies to support national efforts to deal with the crisis, in addition to intelligent analytical tools based on the use of spatial analysis techniques to prepare preliminary studies to manage the preparation of facilities to ensure the speed of response and optimization of available resources.

The Ministry deals in an innovative manner in the management of current and future crises, based on the spatial data and statistics available to it in coordination with its partners to ensure the preparation of accurate studies that support decision makers in making proactive decisions that serve the speed of response in dealing with the Coved-19 pandemic.
