Mahmoud Hmouz is a seasoned investor and business strategist specializing in the acquisition and growth of B2B software companies. Currently serving as Vice President of Investments at Turn/River Capital in San Francisco, he leverages his extensive experience to identify high-potential software assets and drive their growth through strategic investments and operational excellence. Since joining Turn/River Capital in July 2022, Mahmoud has been instrumental in sourcing, buying, and scaling B2B software companies. Prior to his current role, Mahmoud was the Manager of Corporate Development in Mergers & Acquisitions at Constellation Software Inc. from May 2020 to July 2022 in Toronto, Canada. There, he focused on sourcing and acquiring vertical market software companies, particularly those involved in smart manufacturing. His strategic acquisitions contributed to building a robust software portfolio that enhanced Constellation's market position and revenue streams. Before his tenure at Constellation Software, Mahmoud accumulated five years of operational experience selling B2B software products. In various sales leadership roles at startups, he was responsible for driving revenue growth, expanding client bases, and leading sales teams to exceed aggressive targets. His hands-on experience in sales and business development provided him with a deep understanding of the software industry's dynamics and customer needs. Additionally, Mahmoud spent five years as an engineer across different industries, including pharmaceuticals and manufacturing. His roles involved project management, process engineering, and research, where he applied his technical expertise to solve complex operational challenges. Academically, Mahmoud holds a master’s degree in business from Lund University in Sweden and a double major in Chemical Engineering and Biochemistry from the University of Ottawa in Canada.
