About the school

The University of Seoul is the country’s only public university run by the Seoul Special City. As the school is operated at the municipal level, it takes huge financial support (half-price tuition in 2012) and educational benefits from the Seoul government and has excellent academia–industry cooperation in academic areas.

It has created and is developing a unique field of study called Urban Science to contribute to addressing urban problems in a metropolitan city such as Seoul. Since the 1980s, it has established urban-related fields of specialty such as taxation, urban planning, architecture, civil engineering, environment, welfare, transportation, and so on, and dedicated efforts to education and research activities.

About the video

The publicity video on the University of Seoul was a big challenge to break the existing ideas on publicity videos.

The video attempts to tell a story of how the school grows together with its students based on the school’s values and not just by delivering statistical information on the school’s employment rate, size, the number of students, history, etc. It left out things that are not necessary to convey the message that the school nurtures the dreams of its students.
