Twinings sells teas in over 117 countries and has manufacturing sites in 4 (UK, Poland, India and China). The company is owned by Associated British Foods plc.

Twinings team of master blenders are always looking for ways in which to innovate their offerings to not only produce the best taste experience but also adapt to changing consumer needs. A recent revamp of product and package design illustrates the trend:

Since the start of 2017:

- Twinings introduced new Fruit & Herbal Infusions - a delicious “all natural” product and an easy way to drink more water. An alternative to sugary, carbonated drinks. They are all sugar free and with only 4 calories in each cup. Twinings also introduced their first ever cold water infusions, designed for the water bottle

The infusions come with clever new vertical boxes in bright yellow. The boxes are easy easier to fit into your tea cupboard, easier to open and close, and tea bags are packed individually.

-The Discovery Collection, aimed at premium grocery and travel outlets, was launched in over 20 countries. Fourteen imaginative and inspired flavour blends include seven black teas, four fruit & herbal infusions and three blends of green teas , all featured in a new, distinctive, drawer-style packaging. So far over 25 million cups have been enjoyed by consumers globally.

-Twinings unveiled a new range of selection packs that offer consumers a selection of six different types of tea; The Classics selection joined by selections of Steamed Green Teas, Fruits, Camomiles, Gingers and Mints. The mixed packs are available as boxes of 20 teabags, each providing four different types of tea.

-Twinings also launched New Signature Blends - The definition of luxury, each blend has been specially created by Twinings Master Blenders

-Twinings new SUPERBLENDS range, consisting of green teas and infusions, have been expertly blended with botanicals, natural flavours, and super ingredients to support everyday wellbeing.

-Twinings also create two new favors of Earl Grey, Jasmine & Lavender. Richard Twining first brewed his classic Earl Grey blend in 1831 at the request of then-Prime Minister Charles Grey. Stephen Twining, a tenth generation of the Twining family and a director of PR said, “As the originators of Earl Grey tea, I believe it is our mission to provide innovative and delicious takes on the classic blend.

- Twinings also launched a range of limited edition teas dedicated to the city of London earlier this year. Called The London Edition, packs are focused around the unique aspects that make London special; from the architectural landmarks and the vibrant theatre scene, to the diverse fashion and its impressive transport network.

Ecommerce Success - In the last few years, the Twinings website has evolved into a Digital Utopia for Tea Lovers worldwide. Providing and educational and comprehensive personalized experience for visitors, similar to visiting brick and mortar store, Twinings has seen a 20% uptick in revenue and 30% improvement in conversion rates.

CSR – Twinings’ programmes to give back to local communities from which they source have also expanded and are very much part of the way Twinings does business. Twinings’ “Sourced with Care” sets the ambitious goal to improve the lives of 500,000 people in communities where Twinings sources their products by 2020.
