Golden period is the child development period from fetus until two years old. During this period, the growth and development process are rapid and doesn’t occur in other groups’ ages. This early period is often called as sensitive period. One of many issues that are often found in Indonesia’s golden period is the high mortality rate of mothers and children under the age of five. Indonesia had the highest maternal mortality rate in South East Asia. Indonesia had 214 deaths per 100,000 births in 2014, compared to Thailand which had 44 deaths in the same year. (Source: WHO, 2014).

There are several factors that lead to this high mortality rate, especially during pregnancy in Indonesia. Quoting from the United Nations on the report of Population and Development Commission, Indonesia Delegate 2010; it’s mentioned that the accessibility and quality of maternal health is still a major cause of these mortality in Indonesia. Another factor is commuting difficulties experienced by patients when they go to health facilities and get examined by medical specialist. In general, those facilities are available in inner city.

The Ministry of Health designed a healthcare program to push the integrated and qualified examination of MMR (Maternal Mortality Ratio) in ANC (Antenatal Care). ANC is program that regularly examines mother and fetus’s condition followed by medical leverage if any abnormality were found. T-Health-MOM is designed by AdMedika (member of Telkom Indonesia) to support ANC program and it is the pioneer application in Indonesia and South Asia. T-Health-MOM is designed to monitor expectant mothers where patient’s data can be accessed anywhere and anytime, in real-time. Midwives who examine patients will upload the data into this application and then it will be forwarded directly to the main server through synchronization process. Data will be evaluated by a team of OB/GYN (obstetrician/gynecologist) to provide results of the evaluation for midwife’s patient.
