Delivery Robots (DBOTS) is a cloud based automation-tool software, replicating human interaction with network devices in order to facilitate device staging, device testing and device configuration. By having this capability, thousands of network devices can be staged, tested and configured in an automated way, reducing human error and follow deployment standard without fail.

Delivery Robots (DBOTS) is software that reduces human error in service delivery. Delivery activities depend on sales which are very unpredictable and with a mixed low and high volume in certain months, which are difficult to manage in terms of human resources requirement, and in many cases don’t meet business flexibility goals in capacity and scale. DBOTS objective is to change the way traditional delivery activities through leveraging cloud technology to help you boost productivity and drive efficiencies to move your business forward.

As Telkomtelstra (member of Telkom Indonesia) focus on enterprise market in any vertical industry, DBOTS are very suitable for Managed Network Service (MNS) which require speedy device migration, as more than 90% of telkomtelstra revenue share comes from MNS. Developed since June 2016 and commercially deployed in October 2016, co-create with Jawdat Technology, DBOTS are designed to take control of technology, create an agile service delivery process and drive cost and time efficiency.

DBOTS is a new approach in service delivery that can integrate with multiple devices, with its key capabilities:

-Configuration automation for device staging, migration and activation
-Brand agnostic where DBOTS can manage multiple device brands
-Up to 8 parallel process on the same time for migration and 32 parallel process for staging
-Highly scalability as it is deployed in telkomtelstra cloud

In Telkomtelstra system stack, DBOTS connect with service data repository as the main system which supply data to monitoring tools and service management (customer portal), whilst customer data will feed into service data repository. Telkomtelstra MNS for WAN has three service package: Full-managed service, provide customer with new devices and spare management; Managed Only, managed existing customer devices with spare management; and Monitoring Only, monitoring existing customer devices without spare management. DBOTS support all the service package in service delivery, with having capabilities to staging and push configuration into devices, and assurance, to perform change or modify configuration and also replacing broken devices with any brand, thus they will drive efficiency on providing spare.

As no one in the industry had such technology deployed, DBOTS implement and configure network devices faster than ever before by disruptively changing manual and human intervention into automated process to deliver high-standard outcomes, borderless delivery and transparency to impress customer experience.

DBOTS also become new revenue stream as a flagship product for Telkomtelstra. Not only used internally, DBOTS also has been offered to Telstra and related business partner as like one of Telstra’s worldwide distributor partner, to be able to use it for improvement of their existing process.

DBOTS will always innovate as business growth by providing software version validation and upgrade, self-service capability through customer portal, be ready for next generation technology SDN/NFV and integrate with asset management and discovery.

DBOTS implementation has created significant impacts:

-It has improved device staging process time about 83%, from 45 minutes (manual processing) to 7 minutes (automatic processing by DBOTS).
-Bases on MNS project record for WAN involving 4455 network devices, it took 9.2 months to complete installation by manual processing, while it only took 5.2 month to finish installation by DBOTS processing. Thus, it was time efficiency at 52% and 22% of cost efficiency.
-In Asia Communication Award 2017, DBOTS rewarded The Innovation Award as Operator.
