Stockdale & Leggo is one of Australia’s leading real estate franchises. With a proud history spanning more than 80 years, we have successfully built our business into a 65-office strong network covering Victoria, Tasmania, Queensland and New South Wales.

As Chief Executive Officer, I am charged with the responsibility of determining the strategic direction of the business and managing our overall operations and resources. It is no secret that the face of the real estate industry as we once knew it is changing and as such it has been my mission to implement a series of innovative new tools to better support our franchisees and their teams and create an environment in which individuals from a diverse range of backgrounds are supported to excel in their careers.

We recognised that in order to truly differentiate ourselves in a crowded market we needed to offer our customers something that they couldn’t find elsewhere. Our goal was to transcend the industry’s traditional transactional approach to buying and selling property by transforming a process that is typically stressful and emotional into a seamless and positive experience. We successfully achieved this by establishing a unique new service called ‘The Whole House’. This service comes complimentary to those who buy or sell property through Stockdale & Leggo and provides professional relocation management and oversees every detail from connections and disconnections to cleaning and removalists. This service also provides additional revenue streams for our franchisees, making their businesses more profitable as a result.

We have also commissioned a custom-built online platform to meet the specific needs of our franchisees. A great deal of time and energy was spent collaborating with various business leaders to determine exactly what was required to best support their changing technological needs and how we could assist them to further develop their businesses. The platform mail migration, a dedicated marketing portal, website, CRM and intranet which gives our franchisees the tools, capabilities and resources to drive their own businesses without limit. We have put everything online so they can access it 24/7 from wherever they are which also enables them to service their clients at any time from wherever they may be.

Rolling out this new platform has had a huge impact on productivity levels and has created a higher level of independence and autonomy within each of our offices. The technology allows them to access marketing tools at any time, create their own personalised web presence, showcase their listings and even offers access to all business, recruitment, HR, IT, and training resources. Furthermore, it allows us to monitor logins and those who are not utilising the system so that we can then extend further support to ensure they understand how to utilise the technology to help them meet their full potential.

Our business is one of the most culturally diverse and inclusive companies within the real estate industry and we employee people from a diverse range of different backgrounds and our employees originate from Italian, Greek, Indian, Chinese, Japanese and Lebanese heritages. Our eldest member of the group is a 70 year old franchisee and our youngest member is a year ten work experience student. We do not consider a person’s background, age, gender, sexual preference and religion and instead seek out individuals who we believe have the right attitude and are a good cultural fit.

We offer our employees an extensive range of training and development courses and have created a new leadership program for our Principals called P3. P3 stands for People, Process and Performance, and has been designed to provide greater resources for our Principals to improve the quality of their leadership and better support the teams that sit within their businesses. We believe that our each of Principals has a responsibility to lead by example and display effective leadership skills and that ultimately as the franchisor it is our duty to support them to do so.
