Stockdale & Leggo is one of Australia’s longest standing real estate franchises which, over the last 80 years, has worked hard to become a leader within the industry. Our core product is selling and renting real estate, working primarily with vendors, buyers, landlords and tenants from within Australian and international markets. We currently have 65 offices across four states with plans to expand further.
We aim to transcend the industry’s traditional transactional approach by taking a process that is typically stressful and emotional, and facilitating a seamless and positive experience. We have done this by adding value by surrounding our service with other products that make sense to people when they’re purchasing or renting a house such as our own financial services firm S&L Financial Logic which was an industry first, an ‘all in one’ complimentary customer relocation experience service called ‘The Whole House’; Fleet Discounts and a Property Maintenance service.
We’ve also rolled out a custom built technology platform to the entire group which includes mail migration, a dedicated marketing portal, website, CRM and intranet which gives our franchisees the tools, capabilities and resources to drive their own businesses without limit. We have put everything online so they can access it 24/7 from wherever they are which also enables them to service their clients 24/7 from wherever they are.
The impact has been that we’ve created a higher level of independence and autonomy for each of our franchisees. They can access marketing tools at any time, build their own personalised web presence on the website, showcase their listings, have access to all business, recruitment, HR, IT, training and other resources through the intranet which means they can grow their business 24/7. We can also monitor logins and high level users, as well as those who are not utilising the system and surround them with support to ensure they are fulfilling their full potential.
We are one of the most culturally diverse and inclusive real estate companies within the industry. Our employees originate from Italian, Greek, Indian, Chinese, Japanese and Lebanese heritages, as we believe in hiring for attitude and cultural fit. A person’s background, age, gender, sexual preference and religion are irrelevant. Some of our top salespeople are in their 50’s. Our eldest member of the group is a 70 year old franchisee and our youngest member is a year ten work experience student.
Female empowerment is also very important to the group and we have set a goal of having 50/50 ratio of male and female franchisees by 2020 (currently at 17/65) and have created the ‘Empowered Women in Real Estate’ movement, holding one of the industry’s few women’s only events, designed to give confidence and support to women in real estate.
We have developed a leadership program for our Principals which is called P3, which stands for People, Process and Performance. This program has been produced to provide our Principals with greater resources to improve the quality of their leadership. To us, leadership is a responsibility to ‘lead the way’ through personal example which is best illustrated through actively searching for new ideas, tips and strategies to improve performance.
Stockdale & Leggo are proud to boast the best training calendar in the industry. There are now in excess of 70 courses catering for everyone in the industry from sales, property management, administration and specialist business coaching sessions for principals. Attendance rates have doubled from previous years and positive feedback and satisfaction has never been better. This includes foundation courses in marketing, social media, personal development and goal setting.
