2017 was a breakout year for OrionVM in terms of revenue growth, platform utilization and expanding global distribution via partnerships and additional prominent channel resellers. Some key metrics of the OrionVM Wholesale Cloud Platform for 2017 include:`345% growth in revenue (monthly run rate), 614% increase in utilization of storage and 454% increase in utilization of instances. Recent benchmarks performed show OrionVM significantly outperforming Amazon, Google, and Azure, which speaks to the integrity and ingenuity of the underlying technology. OrionVM was one of the first companies to bring hyperconverged infrastructure to cloud computing, and the first to make it available to channel partners. Their technological achievements combined with the OrionVM wholesale business model and synergistic partnerships with leading technology companies make it even easier and economical for partners to gain a competitive cloud competency.

Continued adoption of the OrionVM Wholesale Cloud Platform included new customer accounts with companies such as the Citadel Group and Zetaris in Australia and CloudCo (888VoIP.com) and GridMarkets in the US. The underlying cloud technology has enabled companies such as CloudCo to bring a high-performing, turnkey hosted PBX reseller platform to market. While GridMarkets, a leading cloud simulation and rendering company, is utilizing OrionVM server capacity for animation rendering. GridMarkets is able to scale up capacity with OrionVM as well as leverage OrionVM's new GPU offerings for their clients. GridMarkets is also benefits from OrionVM’s unique bare-metal-as-a-service offering. Bare metal cloud configurations provide a way to complement, or substitute, virtual cloud services with a dedicated server environment without sacrificing flexibility, scalability and efficiency. This option balances the scalability and automation of the virtualized cloud with the performance and speed of a dedicated server. These customer case studies are shining examples of the kinds of applications that OrionVM’s ground breaking technology enables.

OrionVM also announced new partnerships which further strengthened their partner ecosystem, enabling partners to do more seamless alongside the OrionVM platform with synergistic offerings from leading technology companies. In December 2017 a U.S. and Australia partnership was solidified to make SUSE Linux Enterprise Server the first open source enterprise-supported Linux operating system instances available on the OrionVM Wholesale Cloud Platform. They also announced a new partnership with TidalScale in March 2017 to deliver unprecedented performance via cloud-enabled large DRAM tiers. The partnership is reciprocal, OrionVM in turn is one of the referred cloud partners to provide TidalScale partners a hosted IaaS offering.

Building further upon their technological achievements the company unveiled new enhancements and features for the OrionVM Wholesale Cloud Platform. Enhancements included: dashboard graphs, a new ISO upload tool and more, allowing for seamless reporting and better efficiency for partners behind the scenes. Channel partners are using the platform to seamless send emails to all of their resellers and end users with the latest dashboard updates.

They expanded their global footprint with the launch of two new PoPs in top-tier data centers. Now partners have even more options for deploying robust, GEO-redundant DR/HA cloud solution. OrionVM offers instantly deploy-able cloud infrastructure to its customers from its public points of presence in North America and Australia. New data centers and partnerships with data centers included two new locations: ME1 in Melbourne via Equinix, and SV1 in San Jose via CoreSite.

The company continues to receive industry recognition among their peers. The executive team and company founders were recognized with various awards such as the The 30 Under 30: The Young Disruptors In Data Centres, Cloud And Data by Data Economy.

Receiving further industry validation, their client and wholesale customer Joviam (who is leveraging OrionVM IaaS technology) was recognized by Gartner as one of four vendors in the ‘Cool Vendors’ in Cloud Infrastructure 2017.
