LLORENTE & CUENCA (LL&C) is the leading reputation management, communication and public affairs consultancy in Latin America, Spain and Portugal. Our team in the region (Buenos Aires, Bogota, Mexico City, Lima, Panama, Quito, Rio de Janeiro, Santiago, Santo Domingo and São Paulo) comprises nine partners and a professional staff of over 300, who strive every day to improve society through honest, intelligent, innovative and effective communication. Because we are convinced that this is the best path to follow for generating trust and understanding among individuals, companies and institutions, so as to help them resolve the challenges they face.
We have set up the largest network of offices in the sector throughout Latin America, having had a presence in the region since 1998. We work with a client portfolio comprising major Latin American corporate groups, large local and multinational firms who have made Latin America their base for growth. We also have the capability to manage projects between Latin America and the United States, Latin America and Europe, and also Latin America and Asia, with the support of the network of offices and strategic allies belonging to the AMO network.
We ended 2017 with global professional revenues of 36.3 million euros, 7.6% higher than the previous year. The Latin American offices increased their volume of business by approximately 7%.
The two leading publications in the sector place us among the most important communication companies in the world. We are number 44 worldwide in terms of revenues according to Global Agency Business Report 2018 by PRWeek, and placed 49th in the 2018 Global Ranking produced by The Holmes Report.
Over recent months we have taken a firm step forward in our growth policy in the region, completing our network of affiliates in the Southern Cone with the most renowned and established communication consultancies in the marketplace in Bolivia (Rodriguez & Baudoin) and Uruguay (QUATROMANOS). Our affiliates have access to our know-how and expertise to expand their service and product offering, and so respond to clients' new needs.
This year, three of our operations celebrate their 20th and 10th anniversaries. These are the pioneering offices in Peru and Argentina which have been active for 20 years, during which time they have positioned themselves as number one; and Brazil, in operation for 10 years, and now placed in the top 15.
In 2017 we had the opportunity to share with our clients and friends the celebration of 10 years in existence at the Mexico office and 5 at the Santo Domingo office in the Dominican Republic.
Our professionals make up the best senior talent on the market. In 2018, the team was joined by: Antonieta Mendoza de López as Vice-President for Advocacy LatAm; Gerard Guiu, as the new Director of international Business Development; and Gonzalo Sada, as Senior Advisor specializing in the telecoms sector in Latin America.
Our commitment to quality has been a constant for our leadership and knowledge generation center, Developing Ideas. In 2017 there were more than 40 publications and studies, 4 regional reports, 3 editions of the UNO magazine, and the book Reputation and Value Added. A new series of books was also launched in 2018 ('Challenges'), which will explore in greater depth the issues to be addressed by the CEOs of organizations, exploring the concept of citizenship as a challenge for organizations which requires an understanding of the current context linked to digital transformation.
Last month the LLORENTE & CUENCA Foundation presented its first Annual Report, 100% designed for Instagram, an innovative, environmentally responsible and socially enriching format. Among the key results presented, we would highlight the 16 projects and 14 initiatives undertaken, involving 256 LL&C employees, some 50% of the total workforce. These activities benefited more than 1,000 people directly, and impacted on an audience of over 250,000 people.
