Promotion Campaign in Business Communication Field

As a quasi-government authority, KoROAD endeavors to reduce and prevent traffic accidents through fair driver’s license management, training, promotion, research and broadcasting related to traffic safety and preparation of a pleasant road traffic environment as the leader for an advanced traffic culture and the hub of Korean road traffic.

In connection with the mission of KoROAD to ‘Make a happy world where the public is safe from traffic accidents’, KoROAD has executed a ‘Zero Traffic Accident in School Zone Campaign’ to sympathetically stimulate public interest in and awareness of traffic safety for children.

The ‘Zero Traffic Accident in School Zone Campaign’ was executed again in Chung-woon Elementary School in March 2018. The campaign date was determined for March, when school winter vacations had ended and students returned to school. Chung-woon Elementary School was selected for the campaign because the school is close to areas with a high of floating population. The campaign was successful and was reported in major news media. Moreover, on the basis of the statistics on activity hours after school (from 14:00), when traffic accidents around a school occur most frequently, the campaign was executed in the morning and acknowledged its significance by filming children who safely moved about after school.

Both the public organization and the private enterprise pledged the implementation of social responsibility management through a joint campaign to prevent traffic accidents with support from global enterprises and collaboration with organizations related to traffic safety. With support from 3M, the company producing traffic safety facilities, a Yellow Carpet and Yellow Footprint were installed inside Jaedong Elementary School for a safe school walkway. In addition, a bike rider’s license examination was conducted with students at Jaedong Elementary School as part of the campaign. This was custom traffic safety education for children. A bike rider’s license was issued to those students who passed a practical test riding their bike under the supervision of the professor of KoROAD, policemen and the Green Mothers Society of Korea.

The ‘Zero Traffic Accident in School Zone Campaign’ maximized the viral effect on the promotion of the campaign and attracted the attention of the media and public to the greatest extent by being executed on a school walkway. The campaign improved the image of ‘KoROAD’ as a leader in traffic safety activities for children through exposure in major media in Korea to the greatest extent possible.

KoROAD implements the ‘Unity Contest for Reduction of Traffic Accident’ to safely protect people’s life. The contest contributes on reducing traffic accidents by awarding traffic organizations, men of merit and drivers without accidents which make a commitment for traffic accident on roads and ultimately settling down the ‘people first’ traffic culture to reduce and prevent traffic accidents.

In addition, KoROAD implements the social contribution activities supporting the vulnerable to secure social competitiveness and be financially independent by supporting them to get the driver’s license. In addition, KoROAD fulfills its social responsibility by helping multi-cultural families and migrant women to take the written examination for driver’s license, providing administrative support and opening the driver’s license centre for the severely disabled. KoROAD identifies key capabilities per project including safety related to social issues and purposes of its establishment by strategically planning social contribution activities using its business characteristics and specialized capabilities and sets up social contribution projects per capability.

KoROAD devotes itself to making a safe city without traffic accidents and never stops its endeavor to be a traffic safety guard, taking the initiative for traffic safety and facilitating traffic flow with pride and confidence in protecting the life of the public.
