CeptenYapp is actually an implementation of “Mobile First” strategy of ING Bank. It name implies “do it mobile” and it is an enterprise mobile application that is developed for ING Bank employees.
In a bank there are a number of operations that need approvals and most of the approvers are usually very busy. They are often in meetings(within the building or outside) or on a visit or even abroad. At these times, the operations wait for the approvers to be completed. This had been a driving force for us. We thought that in todays world with the present technology level, people should be able to approve their operations at anywhere, at anytime. Furthermore, we aimed to help employees to issue some type of requests(e.g working Flexi), overcome some technical problems(e.g reset PC password), reach other employees’ contact information or shuttle buses timetable or Orange opportunities and so on with their mobile phones.
With these aims& motivation, we started to develop CeptenYapp. On the launch date, we were very happy and proud to come along with an application whose customers were ING Bank employees, us actually! And since then, we had several positive feedbacks from the employees telling us how pleased they were to have and use an application like that.
In the first quarter of 2017, the number of approvals(related to 3 specific categories) given by CeptenYapp are as the following.
3,061 Corporate Loan Requests
2,918 Flexing**(working FlexiPlace, FlexiTime) Requests
876 ServiceNow Requests
Moreover, CeptenYapp increases mobility and flexibility of employees in today’s digital and fast changing world in the light and direction of "mobile first strategy". Example scenarios that CeptenYapp provides valuable and flexible solutions are listed below.
Our branch manager is out of office. How will this loan be approved? The customer is waiting in the branch: "Before CeptenYapp came into play, the manager had to find a branch nearby in order to approve the loan request and the customer had to wait in the branch. Now, with CeptenYapp he/she can approve the request at anywhere and anytime."
Our manager is in the meeting, we have a deployment request need to be approved urgently. "Before CeptenYapp came into play, software engineers had to wait for their managers in order for the deployment request to be approved. Now, with CeptenYapp their managers can approve the deployment requests at anywhere and anytime."
Oh I forgot to give delegation for purchase/expense operations. How will I do this at the airport?: "Before CeptenYapp came into play, managers had to connect to company network via VPN in oerder to dive delegation. Now, with CeptenYapp they can give delegation at anywhere and anytime".
*Flexing: ING Bank Turkey personnel can work out of office once in a week and can have flex working hours (such as working betweeen 8 am – 5 pm instead of working between 9 am – 6 pm) twice a week and we call it FlexIng.
**ServiceNow (ING Bank Turkey’s Service Management Platform(for various departments such as IT, HR etc.)) is one of the most frequently used systems in ING Bank Turkey.
