Tell the story about what this nominated organization has achieved since 1 January 2016 (up to 650 words). Focus on specific accomplishments, and relate these accomplishments to past performance or industry norms.
Globoforce and its software-as-a-service platform has reinvented employee rewards and recognition by evolving the traditional annual performance review to a social values-based approach to performance management. A cloud based platform where feedback from every person a given employee interacts with is incorporated into their review process is a key way for employees to achieve an engaged and motivated workforce. Globoforce is the top provider of social recognition solutions and its clients have demonstrated results – dramatic improvements in employee engagement, retention and measurable adoption of corporate culture.
As a leader in the social recognition industry, Globoforce is consistently at the forefront of HR news and research. In October 2016, Globoforce’s WorkHuman Research Institute and the IBM Smarter Workforce Institute announced a new Employee Experience Index. The research study, ‘The Employee Experience Index: A new global measure of a human workplace and its impact’, involved more than 23,000 employees in 45 countries and territories. It revealed the impact of employee experiences on the workplace and recommended practices for organisations to create more human employee experiences. The study also examined the organisational practice that drive “humanness” levels at work, including organisations’ trust; supportive co-worker relationships; meaningful work; recognition; feedback and growth; empowerment and voice; and work-life balance.
In December 2016, Globoforce also conducted a study with the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), the world’s largest association devoted to human resource management. The study, which surveyed 798 HR leaders, revealed that positive employee experience is critical to employee retention and organisations that dedicate just one percent or more of payroll to values-based rewards and recognition are more likely to perceive greater impacts on financial outcomes.
Globoforce is committed to building workplaces where employees feel appreciated for their hard work, inspired to do their best work and have a strong sense of belonging. Globoforce has shown its passion for this by being honoured as one of the best workplaces in Ireland for the fifth consecutive year in February 2017. The Great Place to Work Institute ranked Globoforce sixth in the medium workplace category in all of Ireland.
In addition, the company is demonstrating its expertise and commitment to the industry through its WorkHuman conference. In May 2016, Globoforce held its second WorkHuman conference in Florida, USA, which was designed to empower organisations to harness the transformative power of emotional connections among colleagues, and supercharge efforts to build a humanity-focussed workplace culture. The conference gave attendees the tools they needed to unlock the energy of their workforce, increase engagement, and help their company achieve its full business potential in order to forge a more human work culture in their organisation. The conference programme covered keynotes from award winning actor Michael J. Fox, social psychologist and author of ‘Presence: Bringing Your Boldest Self to Your Biggest Challenges’, Amy Cuddy, Harvard-trained researcher and author, Shawn Achor, and Globoforce CEO and co-founder Eric Mosley.
WorkHuman 2017 conference was held in Phoenix, Arizona, USA from 30th of May to the 1st of June. Top tier inspirational key note speakers including LGBTQ rights advocate and actor Chaz Bono, Emmy award-winning actor Julie Louis-Dreyfus, and Former First Lady Michelle Obama presented at the conference. CEO of Globoforce , Eric Mosley has said, “Michelle Obama has inspired us in every sense of the word, we are honoured to host such a strong leader. Michelle Obama’s energy and passion will help propel the WorkHuman movement and inspire top senior HR leaders in the world to create more human workplaces where employees feel a sense of belonging and can be their most authentic selves.” WorkHuman as a movement serves as the catalyst for creating a more inclusive and human workplace – one that values individuals as key components to the growth and success of an organisation. The annual event has grown exponentially in size since the inaugural event in 2015.
