Nomination Title: Built.io Contentstack

Tell the story about this nominated product or service (up to 650 words). Describe its function, features, benefits, and performance to date.

Built.io Contentstack is Built.io’s API-first content management system (CMS) for businesses of all sizes. Built.io Contentstack comes with mobile and IoT enablement built-in – rather than bolted on – and accelerates content delivery across mobile, web and IoT channels. With Built.io Contentstack’s pioneering “headless CMS” approach, business users are empowered to manage the content they are responsible for, while developers can separately manage related code and optimize content for each destination – all using skills they already have and tools they are familiar with.

With legacy CMS solutions, businesses have to choose between usability and capability. In contrast, with Built.io Contentstack, customers are enabled to fulfill enterprise requirements without the feature bloat that makes traditional CMS so cumbersome. Built.io Contentstack cuts down significantly on infrastructure and maintenance costs (typically by 10X or more) and allows upgrades to happen instantaneously, without training or months of planning.

Built.io Contentstack further innovates by introducing an IT-friendly, lightweight and extensible framework for all of its integrations. This makes it easy to take advantage of the latest web and mobile tools, and popular services for campaign automation, translations, business intelligence and analytics, while eliminating the “Plugin hell” that web teams are used to.

In March 2016, Built.io released native mobile SDKs for Built.io Contentstack, enabling cross-platform mobile app development and mobile content management. It also unveiled new features for developers, including a drag-and-drop content builder and API consoles, and new features for content editors, including asset tagging and content type labels.

In November 2016, Built.io took “headless CMS” a step further by announcing a redesigned architecture and a host of new features, including a complete refactoring and optimization of the underlying database and turnkey integration with a Content Delivery Network (CDN). Built.io Contentstack can now guarantee high performance access to content anywhere in the world, whether it’s delivered via a website, mobile app or at a digital kiosk. In addition to lightning fast content, the new CDN provides reliability and resilience due to its ability to load-balance and dynamically poll the most responsive server. The CDN is enabled by default and requires no setup or maintenance by customers.

In response to international customer requests, the latest release of Built.io Contentstack adds new language-based permissions and the ability to set any language as the master language, making Built.io Contentstack particularly well-suited for multi-national companies, non-English-speaking users and multi-lingual content. As a result, Built.io is now seeing strong growth particularly across Europe with marquee customer wins, including Europe’s leading online digital photo service PhotoBox and Swiss logistics service provider Competec.

API-first (aka “headless”) CMS brings to content management the same architecture, benefits and best practices that are quickly transforming every other facet of IT, from application development to system integration. Already, over one-third of CMS use cases Built.io sees are non-web and the number of CMS deployments for mobile and IoT continue to rise sharply.

It can be difficult to reach an audience across multiple channels with the right content, but with Built.io Contentstack, customers can take advantage of a tool that is easy for business users and powerful for developers. Built.io Contentstack is the enterprise CMS of the future that is compatible with all the tools organizations are already using to digitize their business.
