Nomination Title: The Author Incubator

Tell the story about this nominated CSR program as it has been carried out since 1 January 2016 (up to 650 words). Focus on specific accomplishments, and relate these accomplishments to past performance or industry norms.

Founded by Dr. Angela Lauria, The Author Incubator is a place for authors to flourish and achieve their dreams of writing a book that matters and changing their readers’ lives. But, The Author Incubator isn’t just about how to write a book. It’s about creating a legacy and applying the lessons authors have learned to make a lasting difference in the world. It’s ultimately an answer to the question, “How can I use my voice and my life to help more people”?

Angela works with women and men from a plethora of industries and lines of work. Whether her authors' goal is to help their readers lose weight, overcome mental illness, or find their life’s purpose, Angela provides life changing programs to enable those authors to convey their unique messaging to readers globally. Her programs accelerate the book writing process, transforming her clients into best-selling authors. Angela’s authors have been featured on multiple media outlets including The O Network, MSNBC, Fox & Friends, The Today Show, Modern Bride, and Parents Magazine amongst dozens of others.

Unlike other publishers, which often focus on book sales and revenue for the publisher, Angela is committed to the success of her authors in the creation of the book, the publishing of the book, and in the promotion of the book and related programs, and to the readers in getting them the help and personal transformation they need. The majority of her authors are experts in some aspect of personal growth or small business. Common topics include health and wellness, branding and marketing, relationships and family, career and work, medical conditions and challenges, wholeness and self-love, surviving difficult transitions, among others.
Most people procrastinate or are unsuccessful because they are overpowered by fear. They don’t know the techniques needed to successfully write a book, or they don’t know the techniques essential to creating a platform that will draw to them the people they need to help and the opportunities they want to create. The Author Incubator provides multi-faceted programs and support, teaching authors the techniques they need to write a book from start to finish and start making a difference in the world.

Angela runs The Author Incubator out of “The Author Castle,” an immaculate mansion nestled on the Potomac River in McLean, Virginia. Not only does Angela run her business out of the castle, she resides there with her husband, son and castle cat.

The Author Castle provides an elegant, versatile space for multiple events sponsored by The Author Incubator. Every time an author in the program completes/launches a book, an exclusive Red Carpet Launch is thrown at The Author Castle to celebrate and promote their work. TAI Talks, The Author Incubator's own version of TED Talks, are also hosted to give authors the opportunity to spread their message to a live audience.

The authors of The Author Incubator are decorated with multiple awards, accomplishments, and financial success through their books. For example, client Debbie Lazinsky wrote her book No Time to Lose on weight loss and finding confidence. No Time to Lose took her business from $3,500 a month to $25,000 a month within 90 days of her book launch. Debbie was featured in People Magazine’s January 2014 Half Their Size issue, and she appeared on Inside Edition and Long Island Naturally.

Debbie’s success is only one example of the hundreds of accomplishments The Authors Incubator’s authors were able to achieve through Angela’s life changing programs. She believes in the success and messages of each and every one of her authors, and continues to foster that growth through her dedication to The Author Incubator.
